摘要: A system and method for orienting a workpiece on an assembly line to prepare the workpiece for an operation is provided. The method includes positioning a flexible fixture on the assembly line. The flexible fixture has a base and at least one adjustable component. The workpiece is positioned on the flexible fixture. A first orientation of the workpiece relative to the flexible fixture is detected with a detection device and transmitted to a calibrator. The calibrator determines a difference between the detected first orientation of the workpiece and a predetermined fixture orientation and transmits instructions from the calibrator to the flexible fixture to move the workpiece from the detected first orientation to the predetermined fixture orientation. The workpiece is moved with the at least one adjustable component into the predetermined fixture orientation and is fixedly held with the adjustable component.

摘要: The present invention sets forth an automatic gluing and conveying system for use with an automated clamp tightener and flattener system in which the conveyor system is capable of moving transversely to the path of conveying in order to accommodate movement of portions of the clamp carrier which interfere the conveying path. An electronic controlling means controls the movement of the conveyor along the conveying path, movement of the conveyor perpendicular to the conveying path, and coordinates movement of the clamp carrier. Also provided is a method for gluing segments of wood to be formed into panels by a gluing process which is controlled by an electronic control system which coordinates movement of the conveyor along a conveying path and movement of the conveying means perpendicular to the conveying path and movement of a clamp carrier apparatus which overlaps the conveying path.

摘要: In a transfer machine of the type that workpieces are transferred to a plurality of machining stations one after another by reciprocatively moving a horizontally extending transfer bar in a vertical direction and a longitudinal direction thereof, a plurality of transfer turn tables for holding the workpieces are arranged on the transfer bar in a serial fashion and are rotatably carried thereon each for rotatable about a vertical axis. A guided member bodily rotatable with each of the turn tables is formed with a guided groove, which is maintained engaged with a fixed guiding rail during the axial feed movement of the transfer bar, but is engaged with a turn drive claw only at at least one machining station where the angular position of the turn table has to be changed. The drive claw is rotatably carried at the at least one machining station in alignment with the guiding rail and is drivingly connected with a turn drive motor so as to change the angular position of the turn table at the at least one machining station.

摘要: Disclosed is an apparatus and method of orienting a cylinder with an oblique end such that the slant of same faces a preferred direction. To this end, a special fixture is used which includes a central axial bore having a cylindrical surface which engages in bearing-like fashion with the oblique-ended cylinder. On opposite sides of the bore, are a magnet for imposing a magnetic field across the bore and across therefrom a dowel pin stop. The magnetic field acts to rotate the oblique-ended cylinder about the common axis of the bore and cylinder into a generally preferred position wherefrom the oblique-ended cylinder can come to its final resting position against the dowel pin stop. The method for using this fixture requires the alignment of the axis of the fixture and the cylinder, the moving of the two together engaging their cylindrical bearing parts to permit controlled rotary motion under the influence of magnetism and the abutting against a stop which sets the slanted portion of the oblique ended cylinder in a precise position.

摘要: A workpiece manipulating apparatus for faceplate panels of cathode ray tubes includes a conveyor for carrying panels along two groups of grinder stations in a pattern coordinated with carriage mounted loaders which move along the conveyor. The conveyor indexes to loading stations as do the loaders. Unground panels are sequenced to the stations as the loaders are present. Loaders pick the unground panels from the conveyor and transfer them to an orienting station which orients panels for loading into a grinder. Loaders pick an oriented panel from the orienting station and load it in to the grinder at the loading station. They also pick up ground panels from the grinder and place them in a reorient station and pick ground panels from the reorient station and place them on the conveyor in the position from which they removed an unground panel. The loader advances to a next loading station to load a next grinder and the conveyor with panels picked up at the preceeding station. The cycle is continuous with the panel manipulation through a complete cycle approximating the grinding time of a panel in a grinder.

摘要: A continuously operating one-sided formatting and edge shaping machine for edge processing four sides of work pieces is driven by a continuously running primary conveying means (10). A conveying device is mounted ahead of this single primary conveying means in the form of chain conveyors (18 and 20), which also operate continuously, so that a precisely aligned work piece can be transferred in this condition to the primary conveying means, for which purpose the two conveying means run synchronously with each other at least in the transfer area.

摘要: This machine for sawing commercial products consisting of accurately sized plates of metal, wood, chipboard or other similar materials comprises a turn-table mounted on a feed table adapted to be set in various positions along a path disposed at right angles to the sawing line, and responsive to means for driving the feed table forwards and backwards, the backward movement of the feed table being attended automatically by a 90-degree rotation of the turn-table. The invention is applicable more particularly to the trimming and finishing of the contours of multilayer printed circuits subsequent to the strata-forming operation.

摘要: The invention relates to a method and apparatus for feeding lumber, especially in connection with a four-band saw for separating and feeding side boards. The problem in four-band sawing is how to separate the boards of a pair of side boards sawed off from the sides of a log or block for further processing such as trimming. This problem is solved so that the side boards that are sawed off from the log are dropped by opening side guards and then directed the side boards by means of adjustable dropping flaps onto a transverse conveyor so that they remain on the conveyor with the cant edge focus up. The boards are then piled on top of each other and/or in a laminating fashion. The side boards are arranged, by shifting them against transient stops of the transverse conveyor, into a pile wherefrom the side boards can be suitably fed further by means of stopping members arranged in connection with the conveyor on a sloping plane. The stopping members can be adjusted into at least two different positions. In the first position the uppermost board of the pile of boards continues its movement but the rest are stopped. In the second position the next side board is released, and the rest are held back. This continues until all the boards are fed.

摘要: An assembling equipment for performing asynchronous process on a first workpiece and a second workpiece. The assembling equipment includes a base and a conveying mechanism on the base. The conveying mechanism transports a first positioning assembly carrying a first workpiece and a second positioning assembly carrying a second workpiece to a first station synchronously, and a first attaching mechanism attaches a first component to the first workpiece at the first station. Then the conveying mechanism transports the first positioning assembly and the second positioning assembly to a second station synchronously, a second attaching mechanism attaches a second component to the second workpiece, and a first processing mechanism processes first workpiece that has been attached with the first component according to a preset requirement at the same time. The assembling equipment improves efficiency of production.
