    摘要: A conveyor belt sanding assembly includes a panel is comprised of a rigid material. A pair of clips is each coupled to the panel and each of the clips releasably engages a paddle of a mail sorting machine thereby mounting the panel to the paddle. A sheet of sand paper is bonded to the panel and the sheet of sand paper is positioned on an opposing surface of the panel with respect to the clips. In this way the sheet of sand paper is directed toward the conveyor belt of the mail sorting machine. The sand paper abrades the conveyor belt when the paddle is moved against the conveyor belt to enhance the capacity of the conveyor belt to frictionally engage mail that is being sorted by the mail sorting machine.

    摘要: The invention relates to a method and an apparatus for handling slabs (2a, 2b), produced in particular by continuous casting, the surfaces of which are ground before they are rolled in a rolling train, wherein the slab, lying on a reversible grinding table (12a, 12b), is moved back and forth under a grinding unit, arranged in a machining cell, of a grinding machine unit (I, II), the grinding table is moved linearly out of the machining cell after the grinding operation has been performed on one surface, the slab is lifted off the grinding table and fed to a turning device, wherein, after turning, the slab is removed from the turning device and, with an unworked, other surface lying uppermost, is brought onto the grinding table, which is then introduced once again into the machining cell for the working of this surface. One aim of the invention is to provide a considerably simpler method and apparatus for handling continuously cast slabs during the grinding thereof, said apparatus having at the same time a much simpler construction. This is achieved by the slab being taken up by a slab manipulator (9), which has a rotatable slab clamping and lifting means (14; 14a, 14b) and with which the clamped slab can be both transported transversely and turned.

    摘要: A grinding apparatus and a grinding system capable of efficient and superior grinding performance prevent the falling of a belt during the grinding of an edge surface thereof. The apparatus includes two rotating bodies 31 and 32 each having segment brushes 4, 4, . . . attached in the circumferential direction at the edge thereof. The rotating bodies 31 and 32 are rotated in the same direction. The tip of the segment brushes 4, 4, . . . is opposed to one edge surface of a belt b stretched between a driving roller 21 and a driven roller 22. The segment brushes 4 of the two rotating bodies enter toward the belt b at appropriate locations on the one edge surface, such that the falling of the belt can be prevented. A grinding apparatus 1 includes a grinder 3 consisting of the rotating bodies 31 and 32, and a holder consisting of the rollers 21 and 22 and a casing 23 by which the rollers are rotatably supported. A plurality of such grinding apparatuses 1 are disposed at regular intervals, whereby a grinding system 10 is constructed.

    摘要: A portable drum sander, including a base, a drum mounted for rotation on the base for carrying at least one grade of sand paper on a peripheral surface thereof, a feed table carried on the base and having a slot therein through which the drum is exposed for rotating contact with a workpiece to be sanded. The feed table includes an infeed table segment upstream of the slot and an outfeed table segment downstream of the slot for supporting the workpiece during passage over the slot in contact with the drum, and a pivot mounting the feed table adjacent a downstream end of the outfeed table segment for pivotal movement of the feed table to a desired height with reference to the drum. A height adjustment lock cooperates with the infeed table segment for locking the feed table into a locked position at the desired height with reference to the drum.
