摘要： The purpose of the present invention is to provide a drum-type shot peening device capable of shortening processing time. This shot peening device comprises: a bottomed, cylindrical drum having one end thereof open; and a projector provided on the open side of the drum and which projects projection material on to a workpiece inserted inside the drum. The projector comprises: a cylindrical control gauge having an opening window that is formed in the side wall thereof and serves as a discharge port for the projection material, said opening window having a rectangular shape having two sides thereof parallel to the center axis of the control gauge having the projection material supplied therein; and an impeller comprising a plurality of blades arranged on the outside of the control gauge so as to extend in the radial outside direction of the control gauge, said impeller rotating around the center axis of the control gauge and having a backward-tilting section that is tilted towards the rear side in the blade rotation direction and is provided on the surface on the front side in the rotation direction.

摘要： A machine, and method, for tumbling objects or parts, generally of plastic material, to remove thin flange-like projections left along mold mating lines and frequently referred to as "flash". An advancing belt-like conveyor has a portion disposed to define an object-supporting surface so upwardly sloped in the direction of conveyor advance, as to cause tumbling and consequent deflashing of a mass of objects supported on said surface. The conveyor is also movable between two positions in which the objects are, respectively, loaded upon and automatically discharged from the conveyor. In the illustrated apparatus these are upper and lower positions. Tumbling occurs in the upper position, and discharge takes place in the lower position, under the influence of the advancing movement of the conveyor. The system includes mechanism for effecting additional cleaning of the objects, while tumbling on the conveyor, by subjecting them to a blast of impact cleaning media. The deflashed objects are conveyed during discharge to a terminal station of the system where they are stored in suitable receptacles.Provision is made to modify the tumbling action, to accommodate the cleaning of objects of different sizes and shapes, by adjusting the speed of conveyor advance or the elevation of its sloped surface.

The abrasive fed from the abrasive-feeding unit is allowed to pass between the workpieces charged into the processing vessel by the air flow generated from the suction unit while coming into contact with the workpieces. Accordingly, the workpieces are polished.

The method comprising the steps of applying a composite stream of a slurry consisting of carrier liquid and particulate abrasive material under high velocity to the workpiece in a blast cabinet, reclaiming spent slurry after undersized abrasive material have been removed, cleaning the carrier liquid for reuse and pumping the cleaned carrier liquid at the workpiece for washing and conditioning the workpiece or pumping the cleaned carrier liquid together with the reclaimed abrasive material as a composite stream at the workpiece. A nozzle which has a divider within it for separating the abrasive material and carrier liquid is used in combination with a slurry discharge head to discharge the abrasive material and carrier liquid in a substantially overlapping blast pattern.

摘要： A tumbling apparatus for use in drum blast machines has a first endless belt defining a pocket for receiving workpieces to be tumbled and blast cleaned by abrasive projected at high speed against the workpieces. As the workpieces are tumbled by the belt, they fall onto a portion of the pocket called the cascade zone. A second endless belt is provided underneath the cascade zone of the pocket to give support to the first belt while preventing any anvil pinching of the first belt.
