A plurality of print elements are each provided with a first high-voltage electrode and a second high-voltage electrode. Given supply of a high voltage to these electrodes, a spark discharge ensues whose shock impulse transfers ink onto the recording medium.

    摘要: Disclosed herein is an ink comprising a dye having at least one anionic group, an amino acid type polyamine or a polyethyleneimine containing at least 7 nitrogen atoms in its molecule, and water, wherein the dye is either a metallized azo dye or a nonmetallized azo dye satisfying the following conditions (x) and (y) at the same time:(x) no anionic group is situated at an ortho position to the azo bond, and at least one anionic group exists at another position than the ortho position to the azo bond; and(y) at least one aromatic residue is bonded to the azo bond, and the aromatic ring of the aromatic residue is a benzene or naphthalene ring, with the proviso that the aromatic rings situated on both sides of the azo bond are not naphthalene rings at the same time if present.

    摘要: A first mist having at least one material is selectively applied to selected portions of a recording surface to form desired characters or other information thereon. A second mist of a material which reacts with the one material is applied to the recording surface. The reaction of the two materials forms a compound on the selected portions of the recording surface having a sufficient contrast with the recording surface to produce characters or other information on the recording surface. If the one material has an ink applied therewith to the recording surface, the material in the second mist reacts with the one material to enhance the contrast of the ink on the recording surface.

    摘要: This invention relates to a method and apparatus for creating high shear stresses in a particulate suspension prior to use of such suspension for imaging or inking. The method and apparatus in one environment function to stress a thin layer of an electrophoretic suspension of particles in a liquid carrier. The prestressed suspension is better suited than unstressed suspensions for preparing both monchromatic and polychromatic copies from originals by particle migration through the suspension when it is exposed to electromagnetic radiation in image configuration while in an electric field across the suspension between two electrodes. The method and apparatus is also used for printing inks in order to form a prestressed, uniform, thin layer of the ink for application to the press.
