    Abstract: A tire rim of a motor vehicle includes a substantially cylindrical body for holding a tire, and a hub connected to the body through radial members, and has an outer face facing, in use, the outside of the vehicle, and an opposite inner face. At least one elongate flexible element associated with the rim can reach a resting configuration within the rim, and a working configuration, extended with respect to the resting configuration, of such a length as to allow the tire to be surrounded, in which each flexible element is wound around the tire to form a snow chain. The rim includes at least one retaining member at a zone of its inner face, to be engaged by a portion of a flexible element in its working configuration.

    Abstract: The present invention discloses a nonslip device for preventing a vehicle from falling into a difficult situation causing the vehicle to be unable to move or be controlled because of slipping between the tires and the road, characterized by comprising: a fixing plate for fastening a nonslip circular flange onto the wheel axle or an aluminum wheel; a middle circular flange with a middle spoke assembly connected to a fixing circular flange formed perpendicular to the surface of the fixing plate so as to strengthen the nonslip circular flange by preventing it from being twisted or bent; a resilient body part arranged between the middle circular flange and a frictional circular flange for imparting resilience to the nonslip circular flange, the frictional circular flange enhancing the frictional resistance to a slippery road surface; and an assisting device for quickly and easily mounting the device to the vehicle.

    Abstract: A tire bar having an elongated body 11. A traction section 12 is disposed at a first end of the elongated body 11. The traction section 12 is configured to be mounted over a tire tread on a vehicle wheel. The traction section 12 has an inner surface 14 configured to contact the treads of a wheel and an outer traction surface 2 configured to contact a driving surface. The inner surface 14 opposes the outer traction surface 2. A lug contact section 16 has a lug connector 1 configured to contact at least one lug nut on a wheel. The lug contact section 16 is configured to be movable along a length of the elongated body 11 to vary a distance between the lug section 16 and the traction section 12. A locking structure 4 is configured to lock the lug contact section 16 at a position on the elongated body 11.     Abstract: The problem of damage sustained to a traction device and the extendable traction elements thereof due to tire-roadway interaction forces exerted on the traction elements while extended over the tire tread area is solved by resiliently coupling a traction assembly within a tire rim to permit movement and repositioning of the traction assembly relative to the rim and biasing back to the original position. Preferably the traction assembly is mounted to a traction hub through a resilient coupling, and with the traction hub permitted to rotate relative to the rim. Also preferably, the invention provides for full retraction and extension of the curved traction elements by use of a linear actuator. The present device delivers increased traction in slippery conditions while protecting the traction device and surrounding mechanics from damage due to the impact of roadway forces, and the device is effectively stowed within the rim when not in use.

    Abstract: In accordance with the present invention, the traction device 10 includes mounting plate assembly 30, and cleats 40. Mounting assembly 30 comprises plate 31 and center ring 35. Plate 31 and center ring 35 are made of steel aluminum alloy or other heavy-duty material capable of withstanding the stresses to be encountered during the application of the invention. Tabs 32 are part of plate 30. As an example they may be formed by bending and folding material up 90 degrees from the plate surface during the manufacturing process. Center ring 35 fits down over and is welded to tabs 32 such that after assembly, holes 37 in center ring 35 will match holes 38 in tabs 32. Each cleat 40 is a single piece of steel or another heavy-duty material capable of withstanding the stresses expected to be encountered during the application of the invention. Cleats 40 are manufactured such that a portion of each cleat 40 is bent and folded to form a gripping element 41. Each cleat 40 is assembled to mounting plate 30 with bolt 42, compression spring 48, washer 47, and nut 49. Handles 45 are attached to cleats 40 by welded studs 53. Bolts 42, compression springs 48, washers 47, and nuts 49 are off-the-shelf items available at any hardware store or building supply house. Handles 55 can be made of metal, plastic, or any other suitable material. They are commonly available items found in hardware stores or building supply houses, or manufactured especially for this application.
