摘要: A method and system using at least two different working fluids to be supplied to an expander to cause it to do mechanical work. The expander is started by providing a compressed gaseous working fluid at a sufficient pressure to the expander. At the same time the compressed gaseous working fluid is provided to the expander, a second working fluid that is liquid at ambient temperatures is provided to a heater to be heated. The second working fluid is heated to its boiling point and converted to pressurized gas Once the pressure is increased to a sufficient level, the second working fluid is injected into the expander to generate power, and the supply of the first working fluid may be stopped. After expansion in the expander, the working fluids are is exhausted from the expander, and the second working fluid may be condensed for separation from the first working fluid. Control circuitry controls the admission of the first and second working fluids responsive to monitoring the load on the expander.Waste heat in the exhaust from the expander can be used to heat or alternatively to dry an element in a device that can be operated as a desiccator to dry air when operated in a summer mode, or to heat air when operated in a winter mode. The air having been dried or alternatively heated is then ducted to an evaporative cooler which cools the dried air in summer mode and humidifies the heated air in winter mode.

The engine of the present invention further uses the intrinsic kinetic energy of the vehicle in motion to generate and store compressed air or gas for in-situ or later use. The engine may also be used for braking by the introduction of high pressure air or gas at maximum displacement.

摘要: A motor vehicle comprises a compressed gas engine, wind resistance engines, reversing devices, a drive train and wheels. The compressed gas engine has a primary power output shaft driven by compressed gas to output main power, and each of the wind resistance engines has an impeller shaft driven by front resistance fluid to output auxiliary power when the motor vehicle is in motion. The main power outputted by the primary power output shaft directly drives the drive train, the auxiliary power outputted by the impeller shaft drives the same after being reversed by the reversing devices, and the output of the drive train drives the wheels.

摘要: When a starter switch is switched from OFF to ON, a hybrid ECU determines that a driver intends to start driving a vehicle, reads a temperature of each of items (engine coolant, injectors, lubricating oil, and the like), and makes a determination on the necessity of preheating depending on whether each of the items has reached a corresponding one of suitable temperatures. If preheating is required, the hybrid ECU sets an engine start permission flag so as to prohibit the engine from being started, and instructs an engine ECU to preheat the item requiring preheating. On the other hand, if every one of the items has reached the suitable temperature range of its own, the hybrid ECU determines that preheating is not required, and sets the engine start permission flag so as to permit the starting of the engine.

摘要: A steam driven road vehicle having a firebox, a boiler, a drive mechanism operated by steam from the boiler, a water supply supplying water to the boiler, and a drive connection connected between the drive mechanism and an axle of the vehicle. A fuel bin is supported by the vehicle frame holds a supply of fuel to be fed to the firebox. A power driven conveyor conveys fuel from the fuel bin to the firebox. An electrical system is made up of a plug-in element which connects with an electric source, and a preheating element on the boiler for producing preheat in the boiler. A heat control device controls the temperature of the output of the preheating element, and a time control device is arranged to energize the preheating element prior to driving the vehicle.
