Abstract: In an indication detection system, a battery data acquisition unit is configured to acquire battery data including current data, the current data being obtained by periodically measuring a current flowing through a battery pack. A determination unit is configured to, when the current data in a charge period of charging the battery pack by a charger include a section temporarily having a current value of zero and an integrated value of current in the charge period including the section temporarily having the current value of zero is larger than at least one of an integrated value of current in a discharge period immediately before the charge period and an integrated value of current in a discharge period immediately after the charge period, determine that the occurrence of the section having the current value of zero is an indication of the battery pack becoming unusable.

Abstract: A method for predictive charging control for an electrical energy store of a motor vehicle, wherein an energy exchange between the energy store and an electrical energy source is controlled by a charging device. This provides that a future time profile of a non-energy requirement resulting from a respective parking phase of the motor vehicle is predicted and, independently of an availability of a charging power of the energy source, a state of charge of the energy store is kept below a limit value by the charging device if the predicted time profile of the non-energy requirement satisfies a predetermined rest criterion for a predetermined next time interval.

Abstract: Fast chargers have recently become widespread due to their ability to reduce charging times. Because of the high power needed from the grid, these chargers need a very complicated infrastructure with high rated components like connectors, cables, and breakers which are not commonly found. Installing a used battery with the charger helps reduce power drawn from the grid as the battery supports the charger to supply the needed power to the load. Therefore, the user can enjoy fast charging without the need to invest in changing their infrastructure. The batteries can also supply power during peak periods when electricity prices are high, which will reduce the user peak demand, thereby reducing the electricity bill. The charger can also be upgraded with a converter to integrate solar panels into the system, where the solar panel supplies the power to the batteries as well as the grid.
