摘要: A system is provided that include at least one positioning system that can detect a location or position of a vehicle or a portion of a vehicle group that includes the vehicle, at least one sensor positioned on or associated with the vehicle that can generate sensor data of a determined parameter or condition, and a controller in communication with the sensor and the positioning system. The controller can determine that a hazard event has occurred based at least partially on sensor data, and can communicate a hazard event notification based at least in part on the location data and the sensor data to a remote server.

摘要: For diagnosing a railroad switch with a point machine, a first and a second time series of a sensor signal of the point machine are received. Moreover, changes in the first and the second time series are detected indicating changes of operational conditions of the point machine. Furthermore, an event point of a respective change in the first and in the second time series is allocated to a respective component of the railroad switch or of the point machine based on a simulation modelling the respective component. Then for a respective component: event points allocated to that respective component are identified, the sensor signal at a first identified event point in the first time series is compared with the sensor signal at a second identified event point in the second time series, and depending on the comparison a component-specific fault information and an identification of the respective component are output.

摘要: A rail breakage detection device includes a first core part provided to a first cable connecting an electrical neutral point of an impedance bond that electrically connects a first rail and a second rail to the first rail, a second core part provided to a second cable connecting the electrical neutral point of the impedance bond to the second rail, a first coil wound around the first core part to generate a first electromotive force in accordance with a current variation occurring in the first cable, a second coil connected electrically to the first coil and wound around the second core part to generate a second electromotive force in accordance with a current variation occurring in the second cable, and a CPU to determine that the first or second rail is broken based on an electromotive force that is a sum of the first and second electromotive forces.

摘要: Method and a device for detecting defects in an elongated structure able to act as an elastic-wave waveguide, the elongated structure being fitted with a plurality of transducers able to acquire measurement signals of characteristic quantities of elastic waves propagating in the elongated structure, each transducer being coupled to an electronic device, the set of electronic devices constituting a network of nodes configured to process measurement signals received from at least one transducer. The method is computer-implemented and comprises steps of: performing a plurality of local defect diagnoses, based on measurement signals received by a plurality of electronic devices, the measurement signals being acquired for multiple elastic wave emission phases; transmitting, to a remote server in accordance with a low-energy-consumption communication protocol, messages containing information relating to each local diagnosis, the messages being formatted in accordance with the low-energy-consumption communication protocol; aggregating the information contained in the received messages; and performing a global defect diagnosis for determining the presence or absence of a defect in the elongated structure.

摘要: A system and method for minimizing safety hazards along a railroad track by optimizing visual railroad inspection frequency based on acquired data relating to railroad safety maintenance. The system and method can provide various rating systems for the railroad assets to optimize railroad inspections by focusing the inspections to railroad assets experiencing suboptimal conditions. The ratings of the railroad assets are based on various data collected from physical factors impacting the life of the railroad assets, such as an amount of rainfall, locomotive weight and frequency of passing, and manually detected defects. The system and method can focus the railroad inspection efforts to the railroad assets requiring increased attention in response to the suboptimal conditions. The focused inspections can result in longer lifespan of the railroad assets, efficient inspections, and safer railroads.

A controller compares signal outputs from the different sensors to provide traffic control preemption signals and self-diagnose sensor problems. 摘要: A method and an apparatus for a train control installation are disclosed, and are based on the absolute permissive block concept. The train control installation employs a plurality of generic absolute block signal units (ABSU), wherein each signal unit includes means for detecting the crossing of a train passed a discrete point, means for exchanging data with adjacent ABSUs, means for generating and communicating a movement authority limit to a train, means for generating and displaying a signal indication, and means for enforcing a stop aspect. The train control installation can be used in conjunction with a communication based train control (CBTC) system to provide a degraded mode of operation without impacting the availability and the reliability of the CBTC system. Further, the train control installation has a self-healing feature to maintain train service during an ABSU failure.
