    摘要: A flap automatically-locking active air flap apparatus for a vehicle, includes a four-link mechanism that connects a driveshaft rotated by an actuator and a rotation shaft which separated from the driveshaft and about which the flap is rotated. Force of a traveling wind of a vehicle that rotates the flap and force of an actuator that locks the flap are set to be exerted in different directions when a four-link mechanism closes the flap. Thus, auto-locking is realized in a force equilibrium state. Accordingly, the flap is prevented from being open although the traveling wind of the vehicle applies a wind pressure to the flap. With a function of automatically locking the flap, the actuator producing a same output as an actuator in the related art is used without employing a separate structure, such as a stopper.

    摘要: A commercial vehicle having various GVWR configurations with a vehicle body with two or more axles, and a cab that does not pivot relative to the vehicle body, and a battery-electric-powered or hydrogen-electric-powered propulsion system. The vehicle has a center of gravity that is substantially lower, and a track width which is substantially narrower, than an articulating tractor-trailer combination with a trailer size comparable to the vehicle body of the present invention, providing substantially increased stability, and with all axles steerable, substantially improving the turning and trailing of the vehicle. Additional attributes are improved safety, increased payload weight and cubic capacity, higher productivity and lower maintenance costs. Many other advantages flow from this vehicle design.

    摘要: A method for data driven downforce control of a vehicle includes receiving a first requested downforce at the front axle of a vehicle and a second requested downforce at the rear axle of the vehicle. The method further includes using a model-based control to determine a first position of the first aerodynamic body relative to the vehicle body and a second position of the second aerodynamic body relative to the vehicle body based on the first requested downforce and the second requested downforce. The model-based control is based on a predetermined aerodynamic map. The method includes commanding the first aerodynamic actuator to move the first aerodynamic body to the first position. The method includes commanding the second aerodynamic actuator to move the second aerodynamic body to the second position.

    摘要: An inner wheel skirt panel centrally located under the body of a vehicle reduces overall vehicle drag by inhibiting air from otherwise being displaced laterally inward by the passing wheels of the moving vehicle. Maintaining air to remain generally static while passing under the vehicle through the central open-space between the wheels increases the effective air pressure developed immediately behind the vehicle to reduce overall drag developed between the front and rear of the vehicle.
