摘要: Provided is a cryopump enabling the maintaining of a preset temperature during a preset time, even when turned off. The cryopump may comprise: a displacer which adjusts outside temperature by compressing or expanding a refrigerant existing therein; a thermal conduction part which transfers heat outside the cryopump to the refrigerant; and a thermal conduction buffer part which, if the displacer is turned off, absorbs the heat outside that is transferred to the refrigerant, and uses same as energy for changing a phase.

摘要: In sun simulators of the off-axis type, the angle at which the collimator mirror reflects the incident beam onto the test object causes a distortion error dependent on the radius of curvature of the collimator mirror. This error distorts the cross-section of the beam in the test plane. An optical arrangement is disclosed and includes an integrator assembly having a field lens array made up of a plurality of field lenses arranged one next to the other. The distortion is compensated for by providing that the periphery of each lens is elliptical with the axes ratio of the ellipse chosen in accordance with the magnitude of the previously computed error of distortion.

摘要: A flight motion simulator includes a unit under test supported on a stationary frame for angular and translational movement along pitch, roll, and yaw axes. A rotor element is secured to the unit under test and has a spherical configuration. Magnetic bearings supported by the stationary frame support the rotor element in three degrees of freedom of movement. A drag-cup induction motor is mounted on the frame and connected to the unit under test to generate three degrees of freedom of movement by generating a rotating magnetic flux in a stator assembly to induce a corresponding flow of currents in the rotor element to produce torque and motion in the unit under test in the same direction as the flux movement in the stator assembly.

摘要: Apparatus for providing a simulated space environment for the testing of articles under low temperature conditions comprising a liquid nitrogen head tank, liquid nitrogen subcooler pumps, a liquid nitrogen subcooler coil, a liquid nitrogen head tank makeup pumps, a low pressure liquid nitrogen storage tank, a high pressure liquid nitrogen storage tank, a liquid nitrogen transfer pump, a vacuum chamber and thermal simulation heat exchanger shrouds contained within the vacuum chamber. Appropriate internal and external piping connects these components so that the apparatus can be operated both in a subcooled pressurized closed loop system as well as in a gravity convection system. While liquid nitrogen in this apparatus will produce a stable uniform temperature of -297.degree. F. within the shroud containing the article to be tested, other liquids with similar low temperature characteristics may be used. A requirement for such liquids when used as a circulating medium with the apparatus herein is that the boiling point thereof at one atmosphere will produce the required test operating temperature.
