摘要: A re-closable container comprising a container body (12), a single piece metal closure and a layer of sealing compound provided on an underside of the closure. The container body and the closure have first cooperating features (14) to allow the closure to be twisted onto and off of the container body. The layer of sealing compound and a sealing surface (18) of the container body which comes into contact with the sealing compound have second cooperating features (40) which establish one or more venting passages upon rotation of the closure from a closed position. The second cooperating features comprise one or more protrusions or indents in the sealing surface and one or more corresponding indents or protrusions on the sealing compound that are radially aligned with the one or more protrusions or indents in the sealing surface when the closure is in a closed position.

摘要: A container comprises a releasable metal closure formed with an end wall and a depending skirt and having an annular layer of sealing compound provided on the inside of the end wall adjacent the skirt and a container body comprising a neck with an annular sealing surface surrounding a circular opening and adapted to seal against the annular layer of sealing compound over an annular sealing interface in the closed position of the closure on the container body. The container body and the closure are formed with no mechanical means for coupling them together to form or maintain a seal therebetween and the seal is provided by a partial vacuum formed in the container during processing. The annular sealing surface of the container body is formed with a localized protrusion or recess which provides a discontinuity in the annular sealing interface, whereby relative rotation of the closure and container body from the closed position creates a venting path from the interior of the container body to the exterior so that the seal is broken and the closure is released.

摘要: A modular heating system and method is presented that automatically dissipates thermal energy from a heater or heated package if the energy cannot be assimilated without excessive temperature increase. A heater containing reactants that generate heat when combined is placed in thermal contact with a passive thermal control material which is in thermal contact with a container configured to contain a substance to be heated. The passive thermal control material allows the transmission of heat between the heater and the container as long as the temperature of the heat passing through the passive thermal control material does not exceed the activation temperature of the material. If the temperature of the heat passing through the passive thermal control material exceeds the material's decomposition temperature, the passive thermal control material decomposes and thereby dissipates heat.
