    Abstract: A conveyor belt moves material from a loading station to an unloading station. The belt is formed on its two sides with spaced support rollers that move along a support track. The belt is guided over deflection drums in the loading station and in the unloading station. A turning device turns the conveyor belt through about 180null after the deflection drum in the unloading station, and a turning device turns the conveyor belt back through about 180null in front of the deflection drum of the loading station. Each turning device is formed by a support structure similar to a hollow cylinder with two spiral guides on the inside, along which the support rollers can be moved. The two guides lie approximately diametrically opposite one another and execute an angular rotation of about 180null over the length of the support structure.

    Abstract: A method is provided for conveying a series of articles along a conveyor path freely disposed on a conveyor surface while maintaining protective article-to-article separation. The method comprises the steps of introducing each article one at a time in a series to the conveyor surface, alternating the introducing of the articles with introduction to the conveyor surface of at least one relatively noncompressible and inelastic spacer freely disposed between adjacent articles in the series for separating the adjacent articles from each other, and conveying the series of articles alternated with the spacer on either side thereof along the conveyor, the articles being free to contact the spacer but not any other article in the series.

    Abstract: An inversion apparatus uses a first pair of bend rollers to twist a conveyor belt 90.degree., and a second pair of bend rollers to twist the conveyor belt an additional 90.degree.. The two bend rollers of each pair are rotatably mounted at rotational axes which are perpendicular to each other. Preferably, stabilizer rollers are provided between the bend rollers of each pair, and cylindrical rollers are provided to feed the conveyor belt to and from the bend rollers. The stabilizer rollers and bend rollers are preferably curved so as to equalize the tension across the width of the belt.

The guide track here, which is located in the turning device, can be adjusted and secured in position in relation to the supporting frames for adaptation to the given technical requirements, such as the dimensions and the properties of the conveyor belt, the loading to which the conveyor belt is subjected by the goods to be transported, and the like.
