A method of transporting a vehicle engine wire harness from a component preparation location to a component pick location is provided. The method includes placing the vehicle engine wire harness on a hook of a component hanger. The component hanger with vehicle engine wire harness is directed along a supply track assembly through a heated enclosure to the component pick location at a vehicle assembly line.

An apparatus for selectively tipping over an article with a standing surface, when it is standing on a conveying surface extending in a longitudinal direction and being moved in the longitudinal direction, onto a lateral surface, wherein over at least 90% of its width, the conveying surface, proceeding from an initial orientation, passes over into a tilting region which extends from a starting position in the longitudinal direction as far as a final position, at which the conveying surface has an angle of inclination transverse to the longitudinal direction which is at least 5° and no more than 30° to the horizontal. Also a method for selectively causing a gravity-induced process for tipping an article from a standing surface on which the article is being moved in a longitudinal direction on a conveying surface extending in the longitudinal direction onto a lateral surface.

An apparatus and method for stacking and loading disc-like objects into receptacles is provided. The apparatus includes a lane combining conveyor which receives multiple lanes of product and combines one or more of the outer lanes into the remaining lanes. A stack former is provided for forming individual stacks of patties which are side supported onto rails. The rails can be pivoted down to divert patties for clearing jams. After the product is formed on the stack formers, a stack transfer mechanism transfers the stacks of products formed on the stack forming rails to the matrix former. Matrix former receives individual rows of multiple stacks from the stack transfer mechanism. A stripper mechanism is used to ensure that the stacks are not scrambled during this transfer. Once the matrix former is filled with product, a case rollover mechanism is rotated to the matrix former. Both the case and the matrix former are rotated back together to bring the case to the upright position and transfer the stacks into the case. The matrix former is then removed from the case with a vertical motion and rolled back into position to receive stacks from the stack transfer mechanism.

Systems, methods, and apparatuses are disclosed for helical container conveyance. In one embodiment, an example container conveyance system may include a set of rails having a first rail and a second rail, the set of rails configured to guide a container from an upright position at a first point along the set of rails to an inverted position at a second point along the set of rails. The system may include a drive mechanism configured to propel the container along the set of rails, and a conveyor disposed under a portion of the set of rails corresponding to the second point.

Devices and systems are provided for improved article sortation. An example sortation device includes a height adjustable frame and a sortation table movably attached to the height adjustable frame. The sortation table defines a first end, a second end opposite the first end, and a body extending therebetween. The body defines a first surface that supports an article thereon where a location of the body between the first end and the second end pivotally attaches the sortation table with the height adjustable frame. The sortation device performs a tilt operation in which the sortation table rotates about the pivotal attachment between the second end and the height adjustable frame so as to convey the article supported by the sortation table. The height adjustable frame adjusts a vertical position of the sortation table so as to modify a vertical position at which the article is conveyed.

The invention is directed to a method and apparatus for combining randomly oriented containers on a conveyor into single file. The apparatus includes a pressureless combining conveyor having at least two or more conveyor sections adjacent to one another, and angled about the axis of a guide rail. The substantially linear guide rail extends at an angle across the combining conveyor. The guide rail is constructed such that the lower part of a container which starts to fall toward the guide rail contacts the guide rail first, then tilts toward the guide rail, touching the guide rail at a height of the container near the center of gravity of the container, and then returning to its stable position. The container's center of gravity always remains within its stability region. The apparatus includes an input conveyor to supply a plurality of containers having no specific orientation, and an input guide rail section to guide moving containers to one side of the input conveyor. An output conveyor is aligned adjacent to the combining conveyor section for outputting a single-file line of containers and an ejector may be positioned along the output conveyor section to eject fallen containers on the output conveyor.

A method for combining multiple separate streams of packaged materials into a main stream is provided, in which each of the streams of packaged materials is conveyed on a feed conveyor, is combined with the main stream in the region of a feed opening of the feed conveyor and further transported on a main conveyor in the main stream and in which at least one lateral wall laterally delimits the main stream. In order to combine multiple separate streams of packaged materials into the main stream despite a narrowing of the conveyor width to counteract jamming, packaged materials from the main stream in the region between two feed openings of two feed conveyors are guided towards the lateral wall and then along the lateral wall, as a result of an alignment of the main conveyor relative to the lateral wall. A device for conveying packaged materials is also provided.

Method and installation for converting multi-track flow of containers into a single track flow, wherein an infeed conveyor is slanted relative to the horizontal plane, an intermediate conveyor is slanted at the same angle and so is a discharge conveyor. The intermediate conveyor is at least as wide as the infeed conveyor and abuts onto it. The discharge conveyor is arranged parallel and lateral to the intermediate conveyor. There is a cross-over plate between the infeed and intermediate conveyors. The advanced containers are first pushed onto the cross-over plate by the containers coming in on the infeed conveyor and they remain abreast of each other as they are then pushed onto the intermediate conveyor, whereby they are gradually accelerated to a speed which is lower than the speed of the discharge conveyor. The cross-over between the individual belts of the intermediate conveyor, which respectively run at speeds which increase down the slant onto the discharge conveyor, results from the downward force generated by the slant.

An arrangement for converting a multi-track stream of bottles to a single-track stream of bottles. An intermediate conveyer is disposed between a feeding mechanism, which is provided with guide rails, and a withdrawal mechanism, which is provided with guide rails. The upper sides of the conveyer belts of the intermediate conveyer form a conversion region in which the conveyer belts are disposed flushly adjacent one another in the shape of an inclined plane which is inclined transverse to the direction in which bottles are conveyed from the upper side of the feeding mechanism to the upper side of the withdrawal mechanism. The conversion region is formed by the upper sides of the conveyer belts of the intermediate conveyer and of the withdrawal mechanism. The track width of the conversion region corresponds to the track width of the heating mechanism, with the conversion region being disposed downstream of the feeding mechanism and essentially coinciding in level and track with the latter. The conversion region is provided with a linear guide rail.
