Abstract:
The sleeve roll according to the present invention has the metallic sleeve 5 fitted over the rubber roll 4, covering the surface of the shaft core part 2, and can be efficiently heated or cooled by having the passage P formed between the metallic roll inner tube 2a and the metallic roll outer tube 2b for the thermal medium to flow through. It also has the heat conductive material 6 mixed into the rubber roll 4, so that it has excellent heat conductivity and the surface of the sleeve can be quickly and efficiently heated or cooled, thus preventing the material to be formed from sticking to the roll.
Abstract:
A diverting roller has a roller body having a longitudinal axis. A plurality of pairs of pulleys are rotatably mounted on the roller body adjacent a circumference of the roller body. An endless belt is looped around each of the pairs of pulleys in such a fashion that each belt has substantial portion oriented in a direction parallel to the longitudinal axis of the roller body. The travel of belts around their respective pulleys permits a non-normal angle of incidence of the web to the longitudinal axis. The non-normal angle of incidence and the travel of the belts permit the axial movement of a web of indefinite length material when the web is in contact with belts of the diverting roller. One or more of the diverting rollers may be employed in a system for inverting a moving web of indefinite length material.
Abstract:
A device for spreading, compressing or guiding a running material web formed by a rotatably supported roll. The roll has a number of slats distributed over its circumference which can be displaced transversely to the direction of the web. The slats are actively connected with control devices that cause a longitudinal displacement of the slats. Alternating slats are actively connected to different control devices. Half of the slats have an adhesive surface and the other half has a sliding surface.
Abstract:
A sheet discharge device includes a sheet discharge roller, a driven roller and a restraint member. A sheet is discharged in a specified discharge direction while passing through a nip portion between the sheet discharge roller and the driven roller. The restraint member is disposed adjacent to the driven roller in a sheet width direction orthogonal to the discharge direction. The restraint member makes contact with a sheet surface of the sheet. When the sheet passes through the nip portion, if the pressing force received from the sheet is equal to or larger than a predetermined value, the restraint member is slid in the sheet width direction by the pressing force.

Abstract:
A web guide roll is bodily translated in a direction parallel to its axis to one or the other side of an intermediate bodily position and in opposition to lateral shifting of the web. At the same time, the steering action of the roll on the web is varied as a function of the translation of the web to one side or the other of such intermediate bodily position while maintaining the roll axis normal to the desired direction of web travel.
