Abstract: The present invention provides a method for improving visibility of an image display device which is capable of providing an image display device excellent in anti-reflection properties and bright-field contrast even using an optical layered body including a light-transmitting substrate having in-plane birefringence, such as a polyester film. The method of the present invention is a method for improving visibility of an image display device that has an optical layered body including a light-transmitting substrate having in-plane birefringence and an optical functional layer disposed on one surface of the substrate. The method includes the step of disposing the optical layered body such that the slow axis showing a greater refractive index of the light-transmitting substrate is in parallel with the vertical direction of a display screen of the image display device.

Abstract: A method is provided for fabricating a surface protection film that has no rolling defects such as blocking or wrinkling when rolled into a roll, and that, after the film is bonded to an adherend, is rolled into a roll, and stored for long periods of time, does not transfer unevenness or fisheyes on the back surface to the adherend. The surface protection film is fabricated as an elastomer by setting the arithmetical mean roughness (Ra) of the surface of a cold roller (4) to no more than 0.2 μm, and the ten point mean roughness (Rz) of the surface of a nip roller (3) to 2-8 μm and the mean distance (Sm) between protrusions and depressions thereof to no more than 90 μm.

Abstract: The invention provides a heat-shrinkable polyester film in which the differences in physical properties in the width direction are reduced even if the film has a small thickness. The heat-shrinkable polyester film has a main shrinkage direction in a width direction of the film and has (1) a thickness of 6-27 μm; (2) a maximum value of the molecular orientation angle of 5 degrees or less; (3) a hot-water shrinkage at 90° C. in the width direction of the film 40-85%; (4) a difference between a maximum value and a minimum value of the hot-water shrinkage at 90° C. in the width direction of the film of 2% or less; and (5) a difference between a maximum value and a minimum value of the maximum shrinkage stress at 90° C. in the width direction of the film of less than 0.3 MPa.

Abstract: A sheet for thermoforming made of a polylactic acid resin composition containing a polylactic acid-based resin, a plasticizer, and a crystal nucleating agent, wherein the sheet has a thickness of from 0.1 to 1.5 mm, and wherein Re (cal) calculated by the following formula (A): Re (cal)=Re (obs)/d×10−6 (A), wherein Re (obs) is a phase difference (nm) measured at a wavelength selected from wavelengths of from 380 to 780 nm, and d is a thickness (mm) of the sheet, is within the range of 0.001×10−3≤Re(cal)≤1×10−3. The sheet for thermoforming of the present invention has a wide moldable temperature region, so that the sheet can be suitably used in various applications such as food containers, packaging materials for daily sundries and household electric appliances, industrial trays of industrial parts, and the like.

The present invention relates to a film including a copolymer containing an ethylene unit, a tetrafluoroethylene unit, and a (fluoroalkyl)ethylene unit represented by Formula (1): CH2═CX—Rf (1) wherein X represents H or F, and Rf represents a fluoroalkyl group having 2 or more carbon atoms, the copolymer containing the (fluoroalkyl)ethylene unit in an amount of 0.8 to 2.5 mol % relative to the amount of all the monomer units and containing the ethylene unit and the tetrafluoroethylene unit at a molar ratio of 30.0/70.0 to 50.0/50.0, the film having a crystallinity of 68% or less, the crystallinity being calculated on the basis of a diffraction intensity curve of the film resulting from X-ray diffraction measurement.

Abstract: A polyolefin microporous membrane is disclosed. The membrane includes at least one microporous membrane layer, where the microporous membrane layer has an air permeability between about 100 sec/100 cc and about 220 sec/100 cc, a pin puncture strength of at least 550 gf, and a crystallization half time t1/2 of from 10 to 35 minutes when subjected to isothermal crystallization at 117° C. The air permeability and the pin puncture strength are normalized to a thickness of 16 μm.

Abstract: A paperboard substrate that can be used to provide a food packaging particle is provided having a water vapor barrier layer comprising HDPE in combination with a nucleating agent which is extruded on to a paperboard substrate. The resulting substrate has sufficiently good water vapor barrier when properties that dry foods such as cereals do not require a bag or inner liner as a separate moisture barrier.
