摘要： A system for trimming a kite having first and second lines, first ends of which are secured to a first side to the kite. The system comprises a bar having a hollow interior and at least one spool secured at a first end of the bar such that second ends of the first and second lines are each secured to one of the spools. A winder is provided such that actuation of the winder rotates each spool. The first line extends from the kite to the first end of the bar and the second line extends from the kite to a second end of the bar and through the hollow interior of the bar to the first end of the bar.

A tethers-engaging panel is an element to which tethers are connected and held. The panel is located on the coiling element, and can also be removable. In that way tethers can initially be attached to the panel, and only after that the panel is put on the coiling element. Similarly, after deploying tethers, the panel can be detached from its place on the coiling element and after that tethers can be detached from the panel and attached to the kite.

摘要： A kite reel device having a rectangular housing providing a cylindrical frame and a spool having ribs with a v-shaped outer edge, the spool being rotatably mounted onto a cylindrical axle located within a center aperture of the frame. A reel providing a handle is mounted to one side of the frame, while a knob for holding the device is affixed to the other side. Recesses within the frame releasably secure the handle to the frame. A hole in the center of the top side of the frame accommodates the passage of kite string onto the spool. The v-shape of the spool rib outer edges assists in keeping the kite string centered and from getting tangled around the axle. Another embodiment provides a ground anchor, a shoulder harness strap, a digital counter, a multiple gearing selector, and an electric power pickup. At least one replacement spool is also provided.

In general the winding device comprises a turning receiver adapted to contact the outer surface of one end of the object to be rewound and, with power from a power source, to rotate the object to rewind the line. The winding device also comprises an end piece adapted to contact the outer surface of the other end of the object and to hold the object in a desired position for rewinding. A winding device of the present invention may rewind the line of a variety of sizes, shapes and configurations of such objects.

摘要： An apparatus for controlling a plurality of lines to a light weight flying device such as a kite or model airplane stores, winds up, and releases the lines on individual, separable spools. The spools are held in a recess in a housing. Each line leads from its spool through spaced apart individual line guides to the device so that the device may be controlled by manipulation of the housing. A winding handle is mounted on an arm connected to an axle on which the spools are rotatably mounted in the recess. In a first, or winding, position of the arm, rotation of the handle rotates the axle and the spools for winding up the lines. An anti reverse ratchet mechanism prevents unwinding of the lines. In a second, or release, position of the arm, the spools are freed from rotation with the axle, an adjustable drag is operative to prevent free spooling or backlash, and the anti reverse is releasable by a manual control for controllably releasing the lines.

摘要： A reel assembly for controlling line cord winding in kite flying includes an elongated main hand hold member adapted for controlling the winding of the reel assembly and a spool member adapted for receiving, storing, and releasing the cord. The spool member includes a plurality of secondary hand hold members extending axially with respect to the spool member. At least one support member extends radially from the central axis of the spool member for fixably mounting the secondary hand hold members spaced remotely from each other and from the axis of the spool member. The main hand hold member extends axially through the center of the support members and remotely from the spool member. An axle extends from the main hand hold member for supporting the spool member, which is releasably locked to the axle by a clutch mechanism.
