    摘要: Sodium percarbonate of improved storage stability in solid bleach and detergent formulations is made by contacting the sodium percarbonate particles with an aqueous sol containing 3 to 8 percent W/V (gm./100 cc.) of silica which has a maximum particle size of 0.1 micron and which is prepared by deionizing a solution of a water soluble silicate to a pH of 3 to 10, in order to deposit on the percarbonate particles from 1 to 10 percent by weight of silica based on the weight of the percarbonate.

    摘要: The present invention provides supported peroxides, and a method of forming supported peroxides. Supported peroxides according to the invention are solid particles that include an organic peroxide, a metallic soap, and a polymer. In accordance with the method of the invention, supported peroxides are preferably formed by dispersing a mixture that includes at least one peroxide and at least one C4 to C30 carboxylic acid into an aqueous solution that includes a compound that is capable of reacting with the C4 to C30 carboxylic acid to form a water soluble soap. Dispersing the mixture into the aqueous solution results in the formation of an emulsion. Polymer is then added to the emulsion, and forms a polymer suspension. A polyvalent metal compound that is capable of reacting with the water soluble soap to form a water insoluble metallic soap is then added to the polymer suspension, which converts the water soluble soap into a water insoluble metallic soap that precipitates from the suspension. The organic peroxide and the polymer are entrained within the precipitate.

    摘要: A percarboxylic acid solution is produced from an adduct of urea and hydrogen peroxide by mixing this adduct with an extracting solvent constituted by a lower alkyl ester, a lower alkyl ketone or a lower alkyl ortho-phosphate, whereby a hydrogen peroxide solution in the extracting solvent results; the said extracting solvent is replaced with the carboxylic acid corresponding to the required percarboxylic acid, whereby reaction of the carboxylic acid with the hydrogen peroxide occurs to give the required percarboxylic acid in solution in said carboxylic acid from which solution water resulting during the reaction is removed by azeotropic distillation.
