    摘要: This invention relates to a process for converting acyclic C5 hydrocarbons to cyclopentadiene including: providing to the at least one adiabatic reaction zone a feedstock comprising acyclic C5 hydrocarbons at a temperature, T1, wherein the at least one adiabatic reaction zone comprises a first particulate material comprising catalyst material; contacting the feedstock and the first particulate material in the at least one adiabatic reaction zone under reaction conditions to convert at least a portion of the acyclic C5 hydrocarbons to a first effluent comprising cyclopentadiene intermediates, unconverted acyclic C5 hydrocarbons, and, optionally, cyclopentadiene; heating the first effluent to a temperature, T2; providing the first effluent to the at least one diabatic reaction zone; and contacting the first effluent and a second particulate material comprising catalyst material in the at least one diabatic reaction zone under reaction conditions to convert at least a portion of the cyclopentadiene intermediates and the unconverted acyclic C5 hydrocarbons to a second effluent comprising cyclopentadiene.

    摘要: A method for making high purity dicyclopentadiene comprises the following steps: providing a dimer feedstock comprising dicyclopentadiene and methyl dicyclopentadiene; blending the dimer feedstock and a diluent to obtain a first blend; cracking the first blend in a vapor phase at 300° C. to 400° C. to obtain a cracked feedstock; separating the cracked feedstock into a second blend and a third blend; dimerizing the second blend at 50° C. to 120° C. to obtain a fourth blend; and separating the fourth blend to obtain a recycled diluent and high purity dicyclopentadiene. By using saturated C5 hydrocarbon, saturated C6 hydrocarbon, benzene and the mixture thereof as the diluent and the steps mentioned above, the clogging problem of cracker tubes is solved and the cost of makeup diluent usage is lowered.

    摘要: This invention provides a process for forming monomers from a dimer, wherein the dimer is dicyclopentadiene, di(methylcyclopentadiene), di(ethyleyclopentadiene), or a mixture of any two or more of these. The process comprises i) heating a liquid mixture comprising at least one dimer and at least one liquefying agent in a vaporization zone to at least the vaporization temperature of said mixture to form a vaporized mixture, wherein the vaporization zone consists essentially of a substantially straight conduit in which said liquid mixture occupies less than the entire cross sectional area of said conduit; and ii) introducing at least a portion of the vaporized mixture from i) into a cracking zone such that monomers are formed. This process is conducted at about atmospheric pressure.
