Abstract: The invention relates to a process for obtaining isobutene from an isobutene containing C4-hydrocarbon mixture (1) in a plant comprising an etherification unit (3), a first distillation unit (5), an ether cleavage unit (8) and a second distillation unit (10), the process comprising: (a) contacting the C4-hydrocarbon mixture (1) with a primary alcohol (2) and reacting the mixture with the primary alcohol in the presence of an acidic catalyst to form the corresponding alkyl tert-butyl ether as an intermediate product and diisobutene as a by-product in the etherification unit (3): (b) distilling the reaction mixture (4) from the etherification unit (3) in the first distillation unit (5), a C4-hydrocarbon raffinate being withdrawn as the overhead product (6), the alkyl tert-butyl ether and diisobutene being withdrawn as the liquid or vaporous bottom product (7), and vaporizing the bottom product (7) if it is withdrawn as a liquid: (c) reacting the vaporous bottom product (7) in the presence of an acidic catalyst obtaining isobutene and the primary alcohol as reaction products in the ether cleavage unit (8): (d) distilling the reaction mixture (9) from the ether cleavage unit (8) in the second distillation unit (10), isobutene being withdrawn as the overhead product (11), the primary alcohol and diisobutene being withdrawn as the bottom product (12) and being recycled to the etherification unit (3); the plant further comprising a byproduct separation unit (15) being fed by a bottom purge stream (13) of the first distillation unit (5) and/or by a part of the bottom product of the second distillation unit (10), wherein a diisobutene product stream rich in diisobutene is separated from this feed stream (13, 14).

Abstract: A method for producing an isoolefinic stream may include: oligomerizing an ethylene stream to a C4+ olefin stream in a first olefin oligomerization unit comprising a serial reactor and a lights removal column, wherein the C4+ olefin stream contains no greater than 10 wt % of methane, ethylene, and ethane combined; and wherein the ethylene stream contains at least 50 wt % ethylene, at least 2000 wppm ethane, no greater than 1000 wppm of methane, and no greater than 20 wppm each of carbon monoxide and hydrogen; and oligomerizing the C4+ olefin stream and a propylene/C4+ olefin stream in a second oligomerization unit to produce the isoolefinic stream.

The device includes an ethanol dehydration reaction system, a quenching compression system, an alkaline washing system, a molecular sieve drying system and an ethylene purification and propylene refrigeration cycle system; ethanol dehydration reaction products in the ethanol dehydration reaction system serve as a heat source for preheating, vaporization and superheating of a raw material of ethanol; tower bottoms of an evaporation tower in the quenching compression system serve as a heat source for preheating of a feed stream of the evaporation tower and heating of an overhead gas of a quenching tower; products of ethylene in the alkaline washing system serve as a cold source for cooling of crude ethylene.

Abstract: A nonlimiting example method for producing a diesel boiling range composition comprises: oligomerizing an ethylene stream to a C4+ olefin stream in a first olefin oligomerization unit, wherein the C4+ olefin stream contains no greater than 10 wt % of methane, ethylene, and ethane combined in a first oligomerization; and wherein the ethylene stream contains at least 50 wt % ethylene, at least 2000 wppm ethane, no greater than 1000 wppm of methane, and no greater than 20 wppm each of carbon monoxide and hydrogen; oligomerizing the C4+ olefin stream and a propylene/C4+ olefin stream in a second oligomerization unit to produce an isoolefinic stream; wherein at least a portion of the isoolefinic stream is used to create the diesel boiling range composition.

Abstract: The present disclosure belongs to the technical field of chemical separation and purification, and in particular relates to a purification method and device for continuous distillation and separation of an ibuprofen intermediate raw material. The purification method comprises the following steps: carrying out a primary distillation on synthetic liquid to obtain a primary material and recovered 4-methyl-1-pentene, then carrying out a second-stage distillation on the primary material to obtain a second-stage material and a recovered crude toluene product; and carrying out a third-stage distillation on the second-stage material to obtain isobutyl benzene and a recovered crude n-butylbenzene product. Embodiment results show that the purification method provided by the present disclosure is high in product recovery rate and high in product purity, the purity of isobutyl benzene is up to 99.99 wt %, the recovery rate is up to 99.9 wt %, the impurity content is not higher than 50 ppm.

Abstract: An aspect of the present disclosure relates to a process for preparing a composite hydroalkylation catalyst including: (a) effecting impregnation of a hydrogenation metal on an inorganic oxide to form a metal impregnated inorganic oxide; (b) effecting calcination of the metal impregnated inorganic oxide to obtain a calcined metal impregnated inorganic oxide; (c) preparing a composite mixture comprising a molecular sieve, the calcined metal impregnated inorganic oxide and a binder; (d) preparing an extruded catalyst; and (e) effecting calcination of the extruded catalyst to obtain the composite hydroalkylation catalyst. The composite hydroalkylation catalyst prepared using this process affords dramatic improvement in conversion of mononuclear aromatic hydrocarbon and the yield of the hydroalkyled mononuclear aromatic hydrocarbon (e.g. CHB).

Abstract: A transalkylation process co-feeds benzene at a relatively high proportion with C9+ aromatics in a feed stream to a transalkylation reactor. At lower proportions (≤5 wt %) of benzene, ring loss is greater for benzene than toluene and ring loss is increased by increasing the proportion of benzene in the feed stream. When the benzene is co-fed in a proportion sufficiently greater than 5 weight percent of the feed stream, ring loss is unexpectedly reduced.
