摘要: The present invention provides a process for purifying a monoterpene or sesquiterpene having a purity greater than about 98.5% (w/w). The process comprises the steps of derivatizing the monoterpene (or sesquiterpene) to produce a monoterpene (or sesquiterpene) derivative, separating the monoterpene (or sesquiterpene) derivative, and releasing the monoterpene (or sesquiterpene) from the derivative. Also encompassed by the scope of the present invention is a pharmaceutical composition comprising a monoterpene (or sesquiterpene) having a purity greater than about 98.5% (w/w). The purified monoterpene can be used to treat a disease such as cancer. The present monoterpene (or sesquiterpene) may be administered alone, or may be co-administered with radiation or other therapeutic agents, such as chemotherapeutic agents.

摘要: The present invention relates to a process for the manufacturing of 3-phenylpropan-1-ol, from nature derived starting material, wherein said nature derived starting material comprises not less than 80 wt.% of cinnamaldehyde. In another aspect, the present invention relates to the process, which further comprises the steps: a) conversion of cinnamaldehyde as starting material to 3-phenylpropan-1-ol by a catalytic hydrogenation; b) optional purification of the 3-phenylpropan-1-ol by alkaline water extraction; c) distillation of 3-phenylpropan-1-ol. 摘要: A process for manufacturing purified glycerol including the steps of providing a starting glycerol fraction comprising glycerol, water, and fatty acid methyl esters, subjecting the glycerol fraction to a partial evaporation to form an evaporated fraction including glycerol, water, and fatty acid methyl esters, and a remainder fraction including glycerol, condensing the evaporated fraction to form a liquid, subjecting the liquid evaporated fraction including glycerol, water, and fatty acid methyl esters to a liquid-liquid separation step, resulting in the formation of a fatty acid methyl ester fraction and a glycerol-based fraction including glycerol and water. The process makes it possible to efficiently separate the fatty acid methyl esters from glycerol, without the need for complete glycerol distillation. Also provides glycerol fractions suitable for use as carbon source in fermentation processes, without problems in down-stream processing, and without the need for cost-intensive purification steps for the glycerol.

摘要: Provided is a process of preparing dichloropropanol, DCP. The process includes the step of: subjecting a three-carbon material to a first chlorination reaction with an aqueous hydrochloric acid solution in the presence of a carboxylic acid catalyst; adding the three-carbon material into the first mixture solution to undergo a second chlorination reaction and obtain a second mixture solution containing less than 13 wt % of hydrochloric acid; distilling the second mixture solution; and purifying the overhead product by oil-water separation to obtain DCP from the oil phase. By lowering the concentration of the hydrochloric acid contained in the mixture to be distilled, the DCP product can be straightly obtained via distillation and oil-water separation, thereby effectively simplifying the process of preparing DCP.
