The invention relates to a thermoplastic processible aminoplast resin, a method for its production and a fine fiber non-woven material as textile area of fibers from aminoplast resins, in particular duroplastic triazine resins, which have an average fiber diameter of 0.1 to 100 μm and between 1 and 1000 branching arms and between 1 and 300 branching points per square millimeter. The invention also relates to a method for production of duroplastic fine fiber non-woven material in which a melt of melamine resin is pressed through spinning nozzles and blown by the escaping hot air to fine fibers, the fine fibers are separated from the air stream and deposited to a non-woven material consisting of a tangled layer, a treatment with a media causing cross-linking and a neutralization step follows, and the fine fibers are glued to a non-woven material in a subsequent thermal after-treatment, whereat the thermal after-treatment comprises two steps.

The present invention provides a crosslinker for organic coatings having an amino resin core with substituents including more than one olefin functional group, a silicon-containing group, and at least one alkoxyalkyl or alkylol group. Coating compositions containing the crosslinker can be cured with radiation, especially ultraviolet radiation. The crosslinker can be included in a coating composition with one or more curable resins, applied onto a substrate and cured to form the cured coating of the invention.

The present invention is directed to a process for increasing the adhesion of a polymeric material to a metal surface, especially during the manufacture of printed circuit boards. The metal surface is contacted with an adhesion promoting composition to form a micro-roughened surface and is then contacted with an aqueous amine-formaldehyde post-dip polymer composition. The amine is preferably melamine. Thereafter polymeric material may be bonded to the treated metal surface. The amine formaldehyde polymer post-dip composition comprises an acid, a pH adjuster, and an effective amount of a amine-formaldehyde reaction product polymer. The amine-formaldehyde reaction product polymer is formed by dissolving amine in an aqueous formaldehyde solution, adding an additive selected from the group consisting of triethanolamine, ethylene glycol, and methanol, adding an acid selected from the group consisting of acetic acid and sulfuric acid, diluting the solution with water, and adjusting the pH of the solution with a pH adjuster.

The present invention provides a crosslinking agent which may have reactive benzoxazine groups prepared from (a) at least one aromatic compound, (b) at least one aminotriazine compound, and (c) at least one other compound having active hydrogen groups reactive with aminoplast compound (b). The crosslinking agent is essentially free of hydroxyl functionality and has a glass transition temperature of at least 25° C. The present invention is further directed to a method for preparing the above-described crosslinking agent, and a curable powder coating composition comprising a mixture of (A) a polymer having functional groups reactive with aminotriazine and/or benzoxazine groups having a glass transition temperature of at least 30° C.; and (B) the above crosslinking agent. Multilayer composite coating compositions are also provided including a basecoat deposited from a film-forming composition and a topcoat over the basecoat, deposited from the curable powder coating composition described above. Coated substrates are also provided.
