    摘要: A process for preparing a hybrid polyester-polyether polyol comprises contacting a carboxyl group-containing component and an epoxide, optionally in the presence of one or more of a double metal cyanide catalyst, a superacid catalyst, a metal salt of a superacid catalyst and/or a tertiary amine catalyst, under conditions such that a hybrid polyester-polyether polyol is formed. The hybrid polyester-polyether polyol offers the advantages of both ester and ether functionalities when used in a polyurethane formulation, thus enhancing physical properties. The process results in products having narrow polydispersity, a low acid number and unsaturation, and reduced byproduct formation, particularly when the double metal cyanide catalyst is employed.

    摘要: Process for preparing linear terminally differentially electrophilically reactive prepolymers by reacting cyclic ethers or lactones comprising a major proportion of tetramethylene oxide with an initiator represented by the asymmetrical structureYO.sub.m SO.sub.2 R.sub.n Q,whereinQ is a first radical which in anionic form is a non-terminating anion in the polymerization of tetramethylene oxide;Y is a second radical, free from alkylatable groups, selected from alkyl, alkaryl, aryl, aralkyl and cycloalkyl and having the free valence on a carbon atom devoid of halogen atoms;n = 0 or 1;m = 0 or 1; andR is a divalent bridging radical comprising at least one oxyalkylene radical --(OR').sub.q where q is 1 to 300 and preferably 1 to 50, and R' is alkylene of 2 to 10 carbon atoms, at least half being C.sub.4 H.sub.8.The differentially electrophilically reactive prepolymers have different reactivity at the two ends so that successive reagents can react with the two ends to give product prepolymers having two unlike terminations.
