    摘要： At both ends of a filter cover (6), respectively in the fastening area of the filter cover on draining element (1), bondings or settings (12, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 10, 21) of stitches (10) are applied, which are interrupted in one or more of first rows of stitches (11) and are offset in one or more rows of stitches at the end of the fastening area in the peripheral direction. In a modification, setting (22) of stitches (10) at the end of the fastening area is placed uninterrupted in the peripheral direction. These settings partially or completely allow runs in the fastening area of a filter cover (6), so that, on the one hand, an enlargement of filter cover (6) is made possible for the assembly, and, on the other hand, the formation of runs outside the fastening area is prevented.

    摘要： A knit pattern for fabrics which will not run when the fabric is torn or snagged. The knit pattern provides non-run pantyhose when use to knit pantyhose for women. The knit pattern consists of four repeating courses. The first course alternates a face loop stitch with a tuck stitch. The second course alternates a face loop stitch with a tuck stitch, with each face loop stitch of the first course being in the same column as each tuck stitch of the third course, and each tuck stitch of the first course being in the same column as each face loop stitch of the third course. The fourth course is knit into continuous face loop stitches.

    摘要： A knitted, woven or non woven article such as a glove for example, having a wrist cuff includes an edge binding which is activatable by the application of heat thereto to prevent unraveling of the cuff edge. The bound edge is defined by first and second yarn ends which are knitted or woven together, wherein the first yarn includes a heat activatable, thermoplastic outer covering and the second yarn is defined by a nonthermoplastic, elastic material. The first and second yarns are knitted or woven in a manner to form crossover points therebetween. The edge binding is subjected to heat in order to melt the thermoplastic outer covering of the first yarn, thereby joining the first and second yarns at the crossover points. The articles may be formed on conventional, automatic knitting machines. The knitted articles are ejected from the machine and are gravity fed into a device which melts the thermoplastic outer covering of the first yarn, and thereby bind the edge of the article. The device includes either a pair of heated plates between which the article edge is clamped or an enclosure into which warmed air is introduced to melt the thermoplastic outer covering of the first yarn.

    摘要： The run-resistant toe portion is of substantially the same dyed shade and has the same sheer appearance as the adjacent foot portion of the hosiery article. The run-resistant toe portion is knit with every other course being knit of a yarn which is capable of being dyed and the remaining courses are knit of a dye-resistant yarn which is not capable of being dyed. Intervening single courses of the toe portion are knit with alternating tuck and plain stitch loops in adjacent wales while alternating courses are knit with plain stitch loops in every wale and of a smaller stitch loop size to enhance the run-resistant characteristics of the toe portion.

    摘要： Method of knitting run proof courses on multifeed circular knitting machines comprising dividing the needles one by one into two groups and forming loops of at least a single yarn on the needles of one group dial ribs in the space above the needles of the second group. The second group of needles during this step are withdrawn below the ribs. Thereafter loops are formed with at least a single yarn on the needles of the second group so that the yarn at least crosses over the loops of the first needles. Thereafter the ribs are withdrawn through the loops of the second needles and then all the loops are knocked off.
