Abstract:
A process for dyeing a thermoplastic elastomeric substrate comprising immersing the substrate into a dye system comprising at least one metal complex dye and a solvent system comprising water and an organic solvent. The organic solvent may be soluble, partially miscible with water or insoluble or nearly insoluble in water. In particular, the substrate is an inflated bladder such as an airbag used in athletic shoes.
Abstract:
A process for preparing a dyed fabric material having an increased lightfastness of at least 600 hours. The process includes the steps of immersing the dyed fabric in an aqueous solution of a cinnamate ester, removing the fabric from solution and drying the fabric.
Abstract:
Cobalt and chromium complex dyes which contain, bonded to a metal atom, one molecule of each of the azo compounds of the formula ##STR1## wherein R is methyl or ethyl and the phenyl ring a is unsubstituted or substituted by 1 to 2 chlorine atoms, nd mixtures thereof with the symmetrical 1:2 cobalt or chromium complex dyes of the azo compounds of the formulae (1) and (2), said dyes being useful in the dyeing and printing of a variety of materials, especially nitrogen containing materials such as silk, leather, polyamides, polyurethanes and especially wool to obtain level dyes having good fastness to light, washing, water, hot water, fulling, decatizing and carbonizing.
Abstract:
Pure and substantially pure asymmetric 1:2 cobalt complexes of the formula, ##STR1## and mixtures of such complexes, in which X is hydrogen or nitro, either, R.sub.1 and R.sub.2, independently, are hydrogen, (C.sub.1-4)-alkyl, (C.sub.1-4)alkoxy, chlorine, bromine or nitro or R.sub.1 is hydrogen, chlorine or nitro, and R.sub.2 is -SO.sub.2 NR.sub.3 R.sub.4, in which R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 occupy the 4- and 5-positions, either R.sub.3 is hydrogen or unsubstituted or substituted (C.sub.1-4)alkyl, and R.sub.4 is hydrogen or unsubstituted or substituted (C.sub.1-4)alkyl, (C.sub.5-7)cycloalkyl or phenyl, or R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 or together with the nitrogen atom to which they are bound, form a non-aromatic 5- or 6- membered heterocyclic ring which contains one or two hetero atoms,B is a divalent radical of a coupling component of the 1- or 2-hydroxynaphthalene series which is coupled in the 2- or 1- position ortho to the hydroxy group and is bound to the cobalt atom through the oxygen atom,D is a divalent radical of a coupling component of the 2-naphthylamine series which is coupled in the 1- position ortho to the amino group or a divalent radical of the 5-aminopyrazole series which is coupled to the carbon atom next to that carrying the amino group, whereby the divalent radical D is bound to the cobalt atom through the amino group, andM.sup..sym. is hydrogen or an equivalent of a non-chromophoric cation, with the provisos that the molecule (i) contains a single sulpho group, which sulpho group is in salt form, (ii) contains at maximum a single sulphonamide group, which group is in radical D or is R.sub.2, and (iii) is free from ##STR2## groups, which complexes and mixtures are useful for dyeing or printing nitrogen-containing organic substrates, for example natural and synthetic polyamides such as wool, silk and nylon, polyurethanes and leather.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to dye mixtures comprising one or more dye(s) of: formula (I) and one or more dye(s) of: formula (II) and optionally one or more dye(s) of: formula (IV) to processes for their preparation and to their use for dyeing and printing hydroxyl- and carboxamido-containing materials.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to dyes of the formula (I), in which R1 to R4, D1, f, and M are defined as indicated in claim 1, to processes for preparing them, and to their use for dyeing and printing hydroxyl- and/or carboxamido-containing materials.
Abstract:
The heavy metal complex dyes of azo or azomethine dyes of the formula ##STR1## in which D is the radical of a dizao component of the benzene, naphthalene or heterocyclic series, K--OH is the radical of the formula ##STR2## in which the symbols A, A', B and B' each represent a carbon atom or in which one of the symbols A, A', B or B' represents a nitrogen atom while the others represent a carbon atom, R is hydrogen, substituted or unsubstituted C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl or substituted or unsubstituted phenyl, and the ring E can be further substituted, Y is a nitrogen atom or a CH group, and n is 0 or 1, and in which --(CO).sub.n --OH is bonded to D in a position adjacent to --N.dbd.Y--, produce dyeings having good fastnesses particular very good crock, wet, wet crock and light fastness on nitrogen-containing or hydroxyl-containing fibre materials.
