    摘要: An apparatus for treating a fibre suspension in a liquid to remove therefrom solid foreign particles. The apparatus has an inlet for receiving inflowing fibre suspension mixed with solid foreign particles; a first outlet for discharging part of the suspension liquid and said solid foreign particles; a screen positioned to define a filtering enclosure extending between said inlet and first outlet; a rotor disposed within said filtering enclosure for rotation therein to apply to the suspension fluidizing forces breaking up interlocked fibre flocs present therein and thereby fluidizing a part of said suspension to exit therefrom through said screen; and a second outlet communicating with the exterior of said screen to allow exit of fluidized suspension. The rotor has a plurality of radially extending blades supported by a central shaft, and the screen has a plurality of radially extending ribs inwardly directed to a predetermined clearance with said radially extending blades to thereby establish fluidizing forces acting upon the suspension.

    摘要: An apparatus for cleaning recycled pulp includes an upright cylindrical vessel having an upright cylindrical screen member open at its top and bottom ends and having a perforated screen wall which is centered on a vertical axis in the vessel. A plurality of upright, elongated blades are mounted for rotation on the vertical axis in close proximity to the screen wall. A pulp slurry entrained with pressurized air is introduced under pressure into an inlet in the bottom of the vessel. The rotating blades clear the screen wall while creating a rising vortex of air bubbles produced by the pressurized air for carrying ink and/or contaminant particles upwardly through the inner volume of the screen member. An "accepts" outlet at the center of the vessel draws off pulp in suspension that has been passed through the screen wall. A "rejects" outlet at the top of the vessel draws off ink and contaminant particles carried by the air bubbles in the upwardly-moving vortex. In related processes, the pulp slurry is processed in successive screen stages to refine the rejects stream to a high concentration while passing an accepts stream of high brightness and cleanliness.

    摘要: An apparatus for sorting a fibrous suspension for removing both heavy weight and light weight particulate impurities is disclosed. An antechamber is positioned above a main chamber. Fibrous stock suspension is inletted tangentially to the antechamber and moves down to the main chamber. An annular rotor in the main chamber creates a vortex of the fibrous stock suspension, which drives the heavier particulate impurities to the side wall of the main chamber and moves the lighter weight impurities toward the center of the vortex. The heavier weight impurities fall to the bottom of the main chamber from which they are removed. The lighter weight impurities are removed by a drainage line extending toward the center of the antechamber. Above the rotor is a strainer and the rotor cooperates with the strainer to drive purified fluid suspension to an annular outlet chamber surrounding the bottom of the antechamber and from there into an outlet line.

Liquid ejected through said outlets moves transversely of the pulp flow towards the strainer faces where liquid is withdrawn from the pulp. An impervious cylindrical wall or screen is located close to a liquid outlet moving between two strainer bodies and obstructs the flow therefrom in such a manner that the liquid flows merely or mainly towards one of said strainer bodies.

    摘要: A process for cleaning recycled pulp includes an upright cylindrical vessel having an upright cylindrical screen member open at its top and bottom ends and having a perforated screen wall which is centered on a vertical axis in the vessel.     摘要: The invention is a cyclone-type particle classifier. It comprises an upper body section, with an inlet for a particle laden gas, and a lower conical section where classification occurs. The lower section comprises an inner foraminous portion and a coaxial outer solid walled portion. These are separated so as to define an annular-shaped volume between them. The two lower sections are further separated at their upper basal portion by an air gap which is in communication with the annular volume and the ambient atmosphere. The annular space is connected to one outlet duct at its apex while the inner volume of the foraminous portion is connected to another duct. These ducts lead to the suction side of appropriate fans. The two ducts serve as the only gas outlet means from the device.

    摘要: The hydrocyclone is provided with a hollow rotor which is constructed in the form of a radial pump rotor and the outlet orifice of the rotor is disposed in a casing having a tangential outlet aperture. The bend in the rotor produces an increase in pressure during use so as to compensate for any pressure losses as well as to allow the use of a feed pump of low-pressure capacity. A disc is also mounted on the rotor in place of a seal to prevent heavy particles from entering the upper casing.

The amplitude of such pressures is such that flow reversal occurs through the screen (20) and any fiber mat that tends to form on the inlet surface (23) is disrupted or fluidized.

    摘要: Pump-like inlet blading has operatively connected therewith a multi-stage stepped diffusor axially opening into a separation chamber. For the removal of light particles, openings or recesses are provided at the outlet side of an inner cylinder and such merge with withdrawal channels at the inner cylinder. If necessary, there are provided for the heavy particles a collecting groove at least in front of turbine-like outlet blading and from which lead openings, so-called saveall openings towards the outside. These saveall openings are briefly alternatingly opened and closed during operation of the stock suspension cleaner. The fluid stream of the cleaned stock suspension is removed by the turbine-like outlet blading. At least one part of the inner cylinder which delimits the separation chamber is separately rotatable relative to the outer cylinder, so that such inner cylinder part can be rotated at a different rotational speed than the outer cylinder. The inner cylinder part carries at least one scraper which, during operation, clears the inner wall of the outer cylinder to preclude any caking thereat of heavy particle accumulations and promoting further conveyance of the heavy particles. The rotating inner cylinder part also carries a pusher ring which revolving moves in the collecting groove, pushes the heavy particles towards the saveall openings and alternately opens and closes these saveall openings.
