摘要: The invention relates to a vibration damping system, which comprises an anti-vibration plate in the form of a plate having a first and a second major surface, wherein the first major surface may preferably be covered with a layer of surfactant-free geotextile. The anti-vibration plate comprises one or more layers, preferably a top layer and one or more bottom layers. Furthermore, it is essential that the anti-vibration plate is preferably obtainable by a method comprising the step of subjecting an area of the opposite surfaces of the plate to a compression treatment in one or more steps, which compression treatment is sufficient to reduce the static and/or the dynamic stiffness of the plate compared to the static and/or dynamic stiffness prior to the compression. The invention also relates to the method of applying a vibration damping system and the use of a vibration damping system.

摘要: A containment reservoir for a liquid, such as petroleum oil, comprising, a walled ground containment space or pit, opening upwardly, with the space containing a liquid impervious flexible liner generally following the contour of the space, and with the liner comprising a layer of pervious fabric material having on at least one of its sides a layer of liquid impervious material, such as rubber, the liner being operable to prevent escape of liquid through the liner from the containment space; means are provided coacting with the liner covered containment space for removing liquid from the reservoir. A covering layer of pervious fabric material filters anything, including liquid, passing into the reservoir. A method of forming the reservoir from predetermined width strips of liner stock, and a method of retaining and salvaging oil spilled along a railroad track environment is also disclosed.

摘要: A trackbed liner which has a particular utility in a railway trackbed, as well as in other trackbeds such as tram trackbeds. The trackbed liner may include an upper support layer; a lower support layer; and at least one middle filtration layer of a material having a plurality of pores and which is normally impermeable to liquid water. In use and under the load of a vehicle acting on the trackbed, the filtration layer permits passage of liquid water upwardly therethrough but restricts the passage of solids materials, so as to restrict pumping erosion of material located beneath the liner. The trackbed liner may be used to renovate a trackbed comprising ballast contaminated with clay particles. The method includes removing contaminated ballast; laying the trackbed liner; and locating fresh ballast on an upper surface of the liner to provide a renovated trackbed.

摘要: A variable thickness fabric mat for use in railroad track structures, and particularly at stress transition zones in the railroad track; the mat is preferably formed of non-woven, multi-layered fabric, with the layers connected together, as for instance by needle punching to form an integral member. The mats are applicable for use with poor load bearing soils, and form a generally stepped, resilient bed for conventional railroad track structure, to help support and progressively spread the stress from the wheeled traffic, over a wider area. The mats provide for effective passing of runoff water, and aid in drainage of water from the soil beneath the mats, to thus improve the track support. The invention also provides a method of forming a railroad track construction so as to spread the stress from wheeled traffic at stress transition zones, over wider areas.

摘要: A large-area rubber molded piece (31) is produced by vulcanization in a heatable plate molding press. The rubber molded piece is provided with a plurality of projections (32) on its lower side and the press includes a plurality of mold cavities (14). An open mesh fabric (15) is placed on the mold cavities (14) for venting and covers all of the mold cavities. A plate of green rubber (17) is then placed upon the fabric (15). When the heatable plate molding press is closed and heated, the fabric (15) is penetrated by the plasticized green rubber and each mold cavity (14) is vented via the fabric. The fabric (15) is embedded in the rubber molded piece and becomes a part thereof.

摘要: A variable thickness fabric mat for use with railroad track right of way beneath the track structure. The mat has a central portion of predetermined thickness, and lateral shoulder portions of a reduced thickness as compared to said cental portion, with the central portion being of a predetermined width of adequate dimension to generally completely underlie the railroad track structure. The mat provides a method for transmission of force from a train on the railroad track structure to be spread over a greater area of the underlying earth bearing surface, and with the mat possessing the capability of passing water, and aiding in draining water from the soil beneath the mat, as well as from the top and sides of the track support.
