Abstract:
Disclosed is an automated drill apparatus composed of one or more gang drills mounted to a gang drill chassis, at least one powered drive wheel affixed to the gang drill chassis, and at least three pivotable support wheels. A control panel provides remote operation of drill rotation activation, drill advance, and drill bed position adjustment, and a panic off switch. A control system implements steering the automated drill apparatus and is selectable by the operator for steering in two-wheel mode or crab steer mode. The pivotable drive wheels, in conjunction with the control panel and control system, are used to position the automated drill apparatus along a slab to be drilled, and further activate one or more gang drills for drilling a slab.
Abstract:
A process of making materials for road construction and other purposes includes separating water from oil well drilling mud or other waste material sludge to form a partially dried sludge. The partially dried sludge is subjected to heat to further dry the sludge. The dried sludge is combined with an open cell aggregate or sand and caustic soda in a pug mill and ground to form relatively small particles. The small particles are expanded to a size which is at least 2 to 10 times the original size of the particles. When a road is to be built, the expanded particles are mixed with asphalt to form a product. This product has a thermal conductivity of approximately 0.36 B.t.u./(hr.)(sq.ft.) (deg.F./ft.). The product is then deposited over frozen and/or unfrozen ground during the construction of a road.

Abstract:
Disclosed is a one-piece, encapsulated, plastic product formed by a single extrusion operation using many different materials so a first portion of the article is made of one material, and the other portions of the article, encapsulated by the first portion, are made of many different other materials. The portions are fused together while hot, to create a one-piece article, preferably in the approximate shape of a peanut. The one-piece plastic products are manufactured by using an underwater pelletizing system. Different various materials, such as plastics, paper, wood fibers, metals, and glass are fed into the pelletizer system using process water as its transporter. Examples of use for the one-piece, encapsulated product are in landfill drainage and ventilation, septic drainage aggregate, concrete reinforcement aggregate, playground safety surfaces, preschool play material, manufacturing parts separator, chemical scrubbers, drag strips, truck and airport run off areas, and backing material for safety walls.
