    摘要: Manufactured modular units for the creation of multistory buildings are staggered stacked so as to create “bonus spaces” between units. Several lighter weight structural versions are presented. The first is a wood frame or cold rolled shape light gauge metal framed modular unit. The second version uses cross laminated timber panels to create the modular unit. The third version uses hot rolled steel shapes for the structure of the modular unit to be staggered stacked. These lighter weight modular units have many advantages. They are more easily transported at a lower fuel costs. They can be craned to higher levels with a single crane. Seismic forces are decreased. Less modular unit weight also allows for greater unit area. Thus, fewer units need to be transported and fewer units need to be craned. Also, a larger unit area and larger “bonus” area allows for more flexible space planning.

    摘要: A method and factory for making prefabricated parallelipiped configured sections which are transported to a building site where they are joined to form completed buildings. The factory is an elongated building wherein at one end metal frameworks and beams for floor, wall, ceiling and roof panels are made and rust-proofed. Next, a plurality of paths are provided for manufacture of the panels by delivering concrete material fill within the frameworks, cast in situ at least for the floor panels. The panels are then introduced into a drying area where the concrete dries and hardens and the panels are connected to form basic structural sections and, by overhead cranes, such sections are placed in groups of five on conveyor tracts which include, in endless members, elements that move the groups of sections by pushing against the metal framework of the rearward sections -- there being a framework-to-framework junction of sections with each group. From the drying area the groups of sections are moved by the conveyor track to an assembly area which has a continuing similar conveyor track and storage facilities for plumbing and electrical supplies, wall coverings, insulation and the like and the groups of sections are moved from location to location in the assembly area for finishing operations. Finally, at the end of the factory building, the completed sections are displaced one by one by a further conveying track operation to a location from whence each section may be transported to the building site or to a storage area.

    摘要: A house includes a split-slab foundation having an upper portion constructed within an enclosed on-tract factory and a lower portion constructed on the lot. The superstructure of the house is erected upon the upper portion, and the super-structure and upper portion are transported off-highway by air-cushion transport to the lot where the slab upper portion is mated with the lower portion. The upper portion is uniquely constructed with areas of increased thickness to withstand the shear forces of parts of the house having substantial weight, with pipe passageways to accommodate pipes built into the lower portion, and with means for releaseably attaching an air impermeable skirt used for air cushion transport. The lower portion is uniquely constructed with recessed areas to accommodate the areas of the upper portion having increased thickness and the pipes therein are positioned to be in register with the passageways in the upper portion. Both the upper and lower portions are provided with means for securing the upper portion to the lower portion.
