    摘要: A structural reinforcing panel system for reinforcing a structure against lateral or shear and uplift loads. The system includes a structural reinforcing panel which is installed between the studs in a wall of the structure. The panel is connected to the foundation of the structure and the sill or header. Two or more panels may be connected together at a corner, within a wall, ceiling or floor. The roof rafters of the structure may be attached to a top plate bracket mounted to the sill plate, which may also be connected to one or more structural reinforcing panels, provides uplift load support for the structure. Movable reinforcing panels may be used to barricade openings in the building structure such as windows. For structures built on piers, a pier mount bracket provides a linkage to one or more structural reinforcing panels.

    摘要: An apparatus and method is provided for tying down an existing roof frame to resist windstorm uplift forces, in which an elongate connector is inserted slantingly upward through a hole through the roof frame, allowing an upper end of the connector to protrude from the roof frame to receive a head member which is detachably attached thereto in order to prevent the roof frame from moving upward relative to the connector under an uplift force. The lower end of the connector is secured to an underlying wall such that the connector applies a restraining force against wind uplift forces.

    摘要: A cross tie bracket that is attachable to a rod and a building structural element. The cross tie bracket has a generally cylindrical body sized to receive the rod and a gusset disposed between the body and a base. The base has a series of apertures formed therein for inserting fasteners through the base into the building structural element, temporarily securing the cross tie bracket to the building structural element with screws, and for providing alignment of a temporary drill guide with the base. A first and second end plate are disposed adjacent to each respective end of the cylindrical body. Each of the end plates has a rod aperture sized to receive the rod. Accordingly, by inserting and securing the rod to the end plates, it is possible to attach the rod to the building structural element.

    摘要: The invention relates to a plastic jacket that is used for repairing underwater piles that have been corroded by the wave action at the waterline or by a tidal zone. The jacket consists of a cylindrical wall having annular corrugations on its exterior surface. The cylindrical wall has a longitudinal cut along its length to exhibit two opposing edges. A seal is placed between the opposing edges. Opposite from the longitudinal cut there is a V-shaped cut through the corrugations to the cylindrical wall to create a living hinge in the plastic material of the wall. Banding is provided to pull the opposing edges into a tight relationship and trapping the seal there between. The V-shaped cuts enable the jacket to be opened and placed around a damaged pile in spite of the corrugations which would prevent such an opening.
