摘要: An ornamental handrail assembly is disclosed which provides an improved base assembly for mounting the glass panels such that the panels are easily leveled without removing the panels from the base assembly. The mounting arrangement necessitates fewer parts and requires less labor to set and adjust the panels. In another aspect, the ornamental handrail system includes a cap rail member which is secured to the upper edge of the glass panels quickly and easily and without the need for adhesives or separate fasteners.

摘要: A window construction is disclosed wherein a unitary vinyl seal 36, corresponding in shape to the window sash 20 and frame 18, is employed to seal the translucent panes 28, 30, 31, etc., in position. Double-backed adhesive foam tape strips 38, 40, 42, 44, 45, 46, etc., serve to sealingly bond vinyl seal 36, 36a, and 66 to the translucent panes, the associated sash 20 and frame 18 structure. Replacement of broken panes involves cutting around the periphery of the broken pane (FIGS. 6 and 7), removing the cut segment, installing a replacement pane and sealing it in position. The same segment of vinyl seal 36 removed, or a new seal 66 cut or formed to the same dimensions as the segment cut away, is employed to seal the replacement pane 28a in position. Sealing of the new seal (FIG. 7) is accomplished by an essentially triangular strip of adhesive foam tape 68 having adhesive on all surfaces thereof. Similar replacement seals can also be formed from the embodiments illustrated in FIGS. 2-5 with the same tape forms illustrated therein being employed to seal the replacement seal segment.

摘要: A glazing unit is sealed into an extruded frame member by utilizing a piece of sealing tape which is impervious to air and water and which is disposed in sealing relation to the glazing unit. The tape is divided intermediately into a first portion adjacent one edge and a second portion adjacent the other edge, the first tape portion having adhesive on one surface, and the second tape portion having adhesive on the other surface. The first tape portion is adhered to a flat part of the extruded frame member adjacent the glazing unit with the adhesive surface away from the glazing unit. The second tape portion extends substantially at right angles with respect to the first, and is adhered to the inner pane of the glazing unit.

摘要: A technique for factory glazing of glass panes in window frames is provided. Each frame has a pane receiving groove which corresponds in its depth approximately to the thickness of the glass pane. This groove is filled with a pane edge and a hardenable sealing mass. The invention further relates to a process for factory glazing of glass panes, in particular, glass panes which have been individually inserted into a window frame groove that is open or accessible on one side and that corresponds in its depth approximately to the thickness of the glass pane. When such groove is filled with a hardenable sealing mass, the latter is subsequently hardened.

摘要: THE INVENTION PROVIDES A METHOD FOR BEDDING A PANEL INTO A FRAME MEMBER HAVING AN INTERIOR SURFACE FORMING A RECESS TO RECEIVE A MARGINAL EDGE OF THE PANEL. IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE INVENTION, THE PANEL MAY BE A GLASS MEMBER AND THE FRAME A METAL CHANNEL, THE TWO ELEMENTS FORMING THE WINDOW SASH FOR AN AUTOMOBILE. THE METHOD INCLUDES THE STEP OF FORMING A SOLID, RIGID BODY OF THERMOPLASTIC RESINOUS BEDDING MATERIAL HAVING AN INTERIOR SURFACE FORMING A RECESS. THE BODY IS DIMENSIONED TO FIT INTO THE FRAME MEMBER AND TO RECEIVE THE MARGINAL EDGE OF THE PANEL IN THE RECESS OF THE BODY. A HEAT CURABLE THERMOSETTING RESINOUS MATERIAL IS COATED OVER THE ENTIRE SURFACE OF THE SOLID BODY AND THE THUR COATED BODY IS PLACED IN THE RECESS OF THE FRAME MEMBER. A MARGINAL EDGE OF THE PANEL IS THEN PLACED WITHIN THE ECESS OF THE SOLID BODY AND IS CONTACT WITH THE CURABLE RESINOUS MATERIAL. THE SOLID BODY IS THEN HEATED TO CURE THE UNCURED RESINOUS THERMOSETTING MATERIAL AND MAKE PLASTIC THE SOLID BODY TO WET THE MEMBERS AND PROVIDE GOOD ADHERENCE OF THE SOLID BODY TO BOTH THE PANEL AND THE FRAME MEMBER. THE ASSEMBLY IS THEN COOLED TO A SOLID CONDITION.

摘要: The invention relates to a method for producing window or door elements that have a profile frame made up of profile pieces, and that have at least one glass pane attached thereto. The profile pieces are pre-affixed to each other in order to form corner joints, and subsequently, the at least one glass pane is glued to the pre-affixed profile frame, so that the corner joints attain their stability from the glued-in glass pane.

摘要: A windscreen glass (10) is secured in position adjacent a body panel (12) of a windscreen opening in a motor vehicle body by a bead of suitable adhesive (14), such as extruded material. In order to provide a seal between the edge (10A) of the window glass (10) and the body panel (12), a strip (16) made of suitable resilient flexible material is secured to the surface of the window glass (10) by means of bonding material (20), preferably polyurethane, which is injected or otherwise placed into an open-mouthed channel (18C) in the strip (16) and thus adheres both to the material of the strip (16) and to the adjacent surface of the window glass (10). The strip (16) has a flexible sealing lip (18B). The polyurethane material (20) may be injected from a longitudinal end of the channel (18C). In a modification, the polyurethane material (20) may be injected through an opening through the window glass (10).

摘要: The invention relates to a sealing profile 1 for plastic, metal, and even wooden windows that is able to cover large gaps because the sealing lip 13 and the sealing gap 12 are of a specific form and occupy a specific position. Also, it is able to do this by the fact that they are comprised of different soft and hard plastic materials. The sealing lip 13 and the sealing pad 12 are arranged at a V-shaped incline in relation to one another, with the boundary surface 14 between the softer material of the sealing pad 12. The harder material of the sealing lip 13 then extends very close to the sealing lip 13 on one side and to the anchoring wedge on the other. In addition to the security of being able to span large gaps without problems, the sealing profile 1 also provides the advantage of being able to be completely mounted in corners without difficulty. It also ensures that a secure seal is created since the sealing pad 12 and the sealing lip 13 become properly molded when installed against the glass pane 2.
