摘要: A downhole displacement impact method and an impact drilling tool are provided, which relates to the field of drilling tools. The downhole displacement impact drilling tool includes a flow passing sleeve, a first main shaft, an impact-bearing seat, and a second main shaft that are all formed by annular structures and are connected in sequence from top to bottom. A vibration sleeve, a vibration starting seat, and an impact head are connected in sequence from top to bottom on the impact-bearing seat. The vibration sleeve is connected and fixed to the impact head through a connecting sleeve. The vibration starting seat synchronously rotates with the impact-bearing seat through a spline connection therebetween. The vibration starting seat generates an up-down periodic displacement along an axial direction of the vibration starting seat during rotating.

摘要: A process comprising: placing a boronizing powder composition in a metal pipe comprising a first end, a second end, an inside surface and an outside surface; heating the pipe to form a borided layer on the inside surface, and spent boronizing powder; removing the spent boronizing powder from the pipe, thereby forming an empty boronized pipe; heating the empty boronized pipe to above its austenitizing temperature, thereby forming an austenitized pipe; quenching the austenitized pipe, thereby forming a quenched pipe; tempering the quenched pipe, thereby forming a tempered pipe; and threading the tempered pipe.

摘要: A downhole sensing device deployment control apparatus (10) includes means to control speed of the sensing device progressing within a borehole associated with a drilling operation. A mechanical, electrically powered and/or hydro-dynamic drag/damping means/device (12) can be provided as part of the control apparatus to control speed of deployment down the borehole. The drag device (12) can have a plurality of wheels or rollers to contact an internal bore of an inner pipe of a drill string. Rotation control means (24), (26) can be provided to control an amount of rotation and/or direction of rotation of the wheels or rollers relative to travel of the sensing device within the borehole. Valving (60) can be provided. A two stage (dual) flow/pressure control valve (100) can be provided. A sensing device (release 216) and downhole position latch (202) can be provided. The sensing device can be pumped into the borehole, such as by compressed air.

摘要: Disclosed is a hammer reamer that comprises similar features to prior art reamers such as cutting wheels and a product-pulling feature. An exemplary hammer reamer, however, also includes a hammer component operable to deliver a percussive cycle of an internal piston component. Notably, an internal impact surface within the head of the hammer reamer is positioned relative to the piston component in the hammer consistent with a “sweet spot” position of a drill bit used in a pilot boring configuration. Unlike a slidably engaged drill bit, however, the internal impact surface in the hammer reamer is fixed in place so that the impact surface remains in the “sweet spot” of the piston stroke range. In this way, even though the hammer reamer is being pulled back through a bore while the drill string is being retracted, the hammer component may continue to deliver percussive blows to the hammer reamer head to introduce a vibratory force that contributes to the efficiency of the reaming process.

摘要: An improved leading end assembly for a HDD percussion boring system comprises a sonde housing, a percussion hammer and a tilted-face slant bit. The sonde housing body comprises a bent engagement feature and a shoe aspect that creates an asymmetrical cross section of the sonde housing. The percussion hammer is connected to the sonde housing via the bent engagement feature which is configured to position the percussion hammer on an angle relative to a longitudinal axis of the sonde housing. The tilted-face slant bit comprises a front face facet that defines a plane that is tilted relative to a plane that is perpendicular to a longitudinal axis of the bit shaft. Advantageously, embodiments of the solution do not include a bent sub component. Rather, the shoe aspect, the bent engagement feature and the front face facet collectively form an effective bend angle (as opposed to a single, abrupt bend angle imposed by a bent sub in prior art solutions).

The oil-based drilling fluid comprising a base oil continuous phase, an aqueous discontinuous phase, and at least one rheology modifier. The at least one rheology modifier including an alkaline-earth diamondoid compound. The method of preparing the oil-based drilling fluid including mixing a base oil, at least one emulsifier, and at least one wetting agent to form a first mixture, adding and mixing at least one rheology modifier into the first mixture to form a second mixture, adding and mixing at least one fluid-loss control additive into the second mixture to form a third mixture, adding and mixing a brine solution into the third mixture to form a fourth mixture, and adding and mixing a weighting additive into the fourth mixture to form the oil-based drilling fluid.
