摘要: A cement composition can include water; cement, wherein less than 75 w/w % of the total amount of the cement is Portland cement; and a fluid loss additive, wherein the fluid loss additive comprises a polymer network having at least one branching point formed with a monomer and a cross-linking agent that comprises at least three active functional groups. The cement can also be a non-Portland cement. The monomer can be a vinyl ester-based monomer that is polymerized with the cross-linking agent to form the polymer network. The cement composition can be used in an oil and gas operation.

摘要: The present disclosure relates to downhole fluid additives including a clay, a hydroxylated polymer, a cation, and water. The disclosure further relates to downhole fluids, including drilling fluids, spaces, cements, and proppant delivery fluids containing such as downhole fluid additive and methods of using such fluids. The downhole fluid additive may have any of a variety of functions in the downhole fluid and may confer any of a variety of properties upon it, such as salt tolerance or desired viscosities even at high downhole temperatures.

摘要: Cementing compositions containing a hydraulic cement, halloysite nanoparticles, and silica flour. The cementing compositions may optionally include other additives such as a friction reducer, a defoamer, and a fluid loss additive. Cement samples made therefrom and methods of producing such cement samples are also specified. The addition of halloysite nanoparticles and silica flour provides enhanced mechanical strength (e.g. compressive strength, flexural strength) and improved durability (e.g. resistance to CO2 and salinity) to the cement, making them suitable cementing material for oil and gas wells.

摘要: A method of conversion of a water-based mud to a gel-based LCM quickly to control lost circulation in a lost circulation zone in a wellbore during continuous drilling with a drilling mud, the drilling mud comprises a volcanic ash, water, a de-foamer, a pH buffer, and a polymer. The method comprises the steps of entering the lost circulation zone, determining a lost circulation volumetric flow rate, metering a first amount of a binder into the drilling mud to create a binder containing mud, pumping the binder containing drilling mud into the wellbore, and suspending metering of the first amount of the binder to the drilling mud after a pre-defined regulating period of time effective to permit the binder containing drilling mud to create a gel-based LCM operable to alter the lost circulation zone.
