The process can then be repeated along the length of the tunnel in a sheet by sheet fashion.

    摘要: A method of installing a fill fence system at a predetermined location to at least partially cover an opening defined by a back, a floor, and side walls. The method includes providing a carrier system including a carrier assembly, locating the carrier assembly in a safe zone adjacent to the unsafe zone, and positioning an assembled fill fence assembly on the carrier assembly. The carrier assembly and the full fence assembly are moved to a preselected location. With the carrier assembly at the preselected location, the fill fence assembly is positioned at the predetermined location, and installed at least partially to cover the opening. The carrier assembly is disengaged from the fill fence assembly and removed from the preselected location. The fill fence system includes a securing element is applied to help secure the fill fence assembly in the opening.

    摘要: Support plates used in so-called rock bolting for supporting the roof in an underground excavation, such as a tunnel or mine, are positioned initially by a parallelogram bar structure that is attached to a moveable shield that is moveable upwardly toward the roof by lifting cylinders. Two bar structures are arranged side-by-side and each has at one end a shoe that includes support plate positioning surfaces and at least one shoe has a centering pin that automatically locates and centers the support plate. Upon placing a support plate on the shoes and determining that the excavation roof is of a sufficient height, the two bar structures are pivotted upwardly, which turns the support plate parallel to the roof and by means of the lifting pistons the support plate is firmly pressed against the roof so that automatic anchor placement or rock bolting is facilitated.
