    摘要: An electronically controlled thermostat device simplifies an insulating structure and external portions of the lead wires of a heater incorporated for temperature control of a thermo-element, reduces the number of different parts, and facilitates assembly. A pair of insulating rod pieces clamps the heater at the front and clamps a pair of lead wires from the heater while maintaining an insulated state, and a connector member attached to a side of the insulating rod pieces opposite the portion that holds the heater is mounted on the outside of a device housing. The connector member at an inner end has connector terminals provided with a pair of lead end connecting pieces to which the lead wires are connected, and has an engaging concave portion that engages an engaging convex portion for preventing twisting provided on a side of the insulating rod pieces opposite the portion that holds the heater.

    摘要: Disclosed are a cartridge heater for a thermostat and a manufacturing method of the same. The cartridge heater for a thermostat inserted into wax that reciprocatively moves a piston while being expanded and contracted according to a temperature in a wax cylinder embedded in the thermostat and used for selectively transferring heat to the wax by depending on whether power is applied, includes: a bobbin around which a coil connected with each of lead wires connected with external power and inserted therein is wound on the outer periphery thereof; a heating tube of which one end is closed and the other end is initially opened, the bobbin being inserted toward the closed end from the initially opened end therein, such that the lead wires protrude to the outside and the closed end is inserted into the wax; a filling material filled in the heating tube into which the bobbin is inserted; an insulating cap mounted on the initially opened end of the heating tube in which the filling material is filled while being penetrated by the lead wires; and a joining body mounted on the other end of the heating tube and joined to the wax cylinder while covering the outer periphery of the closed end of the heating tube.

    摘要: A cooling system for internal combustion engines provides directed flows of heated or cooled coolant to various engine components and/or accessories as needed. By providing directed flows, the overall coolant flow volume is reduced from that of conventional cooling systems, allowing for a smaller capacity water pump to be employed which results in a net energy savings for the engine. Further, by reducing the overall coolant flow volume, the hoses and/or galleries required for the directed flows are reduced from those of conventional cooling systems, providing a cost savings and a weight savings. Finally, by preferably employing an impellor type water pump, the expense of an electric water pump and its associated control circuitry can be avoided. The direct flows are established by a multifunction valve which, in a preferred implementation, comprises a two-plate valve wherein each plate is operated by a wax motor.

    摘要: When a temperature difference between intake air temperature that detected by an intake air temperature sensor and engine coolant temperature thw1 detected by an engine coolant temperature sensor is greater than a threshold value, a coolant temperature sensor abnormality determination apparatus opens a changeover valve to cause the coolant to flow into an engine coolant passageway, thereby mixing the coolant in an engine and the coolant in a heater passageway (bypass passageway). If the temperature difference between the engine coolant temperature thw1 and a heater inlet coolant temperature (bypass coolant temperature) thw2 occurring after the changeover valve opens is less than or equal to a predetermined value, the apparatus determines that the engine coolant temperature sensor is normal. If the temperature difference is greater than the predetermined value, the apparatus determines that the engine coolant temperature sensor is abnormal.

    摘要: The disclosure relates to an internal combustion engine with a cooling circuit having a water jacket portion in the cylinder block and a water jacket portion in the cylinder head which has an intake portion and an exhaust portion. Flow from the intake and exhaust portions mix in an outlet housing which has a cylinder head outlet thermostat. A coolant pump provides flow to a first branch to the exhaust portion and a second branch to the water jacket portion in the cylinder block. A block thermostat is located in the second branch downstream of the coolant pump and upstream of the water jacket portion in the cylinder block. The intake portion of the water jacket portion in the cylinder head is fluidly coupled to the water jacket portion in the cylinder block.
