摘要: An internal combustion engine includes a crankcase for rotatably supporting a crankshaft about a crankshaft longitudinal axis. The crankcase comprises a crankcase water jacket, a cylinder head which is connected to the crankcase and comprises a cylinder head water jacket, and a coolant pump for supplying the crankcase water jacket and the cylinder head water jacket with a coolant volume flow. The crankcase water jacket and the cylinder head water jacket are fluidly connected to one another in series. The crankcase water jacket is suppliable with the coolant volume flow by the coolant pump via a crankcase inlet, and the crankcase water jacket is designed such that the coolant volume flow is directed via a crankcase outlet and is transferred in the direction of the cylinder head water jacket. The crankcase inlet and the crankcase outlet are axially spaced apart. The crankcase inlet is arranged on a first longitudinal side of the crankcase.

摘要: A cooling system includes: a first coolant passage; a second coolant passage; a pump; a radiator; a third coolant passage; a connection switching mechanism that switches between a forward flow connection state and a reverse flow connection state; a fourth coolant passage; a fifth coolant passage; and a shutoff valve configured to open/shut off the fifth coolant passage. The radiator is disposed at a location at which coolant flowing from a second end of the first coolant passage into a fourth end of the second coolant passage is not cooled in the reverse flow connection state, and coolant flowing out from the second end of the first coolant passage and the fourth end of the second coolant passage is cooled in the forward flow connection state.

摘要: An engine is provided with a cylinder head defining a coolant jacket therein that is formed from a series of passages interconnected by a series of curved junctions to direct coolant about spark plugs, exhaust valves, and an integrated exhaust manifold in the head. The cooling jacket has a first longitudinal passage with an annular section about a spark plug, a second longitudinal passage with an annular section about an exhaust valve, and a third passage surrounding an integrated exhaust manifold and fluidly connecting the first and second passages. The first passage has a continuously decreasing area and the second passage has a continuously increasing area in a direction of coolant flow.
