摘要: A cooling system in an engine is provided. The cooling system includes a cylinder bore including a central axis, a coolant duct including a first section positioned on a first side of the cylinder bore and a second section positioned on a second side of the cylinder bore, a connecting duct extending between the first section and the second section and including a first end opening into the first section and a second end opening into the second section. The connecting duct includes a first subsection and a second subsection extending inwardly toward the central axis and an intersection of the first subsection and the second subsection in a plane perpendicular to the central axis form a non-straight angle.

Provided is a water jacket spacer 1 that is inserted into a water jacket 102 and regulates the flow of cooling water flowing into the water jacket 102 from a cooling water inflow port 105a. The water jacket spacer 1 includes a first seal lip 13 that is arranged on the upper end of a spacer main body 10 and is in contact with a bore side inner wall face 102a of the water jacket 102 to seal a gap formed between the bore side inner wall face 102a and the spacer main body 10.

摘要: An internal combustion engine has a cooling jacket defined in the cylinder block for cooling at least an exhaust side of the cylinder. The cooling jacket at least partially surrounds the cylinder and includes a first cooling passage positioned between the exhaust passage and the first auxiliary exhaust passage, and a second cooling passage positioned between the exhaust passage and the second auxiliary exhaust passage. The cooling jacket on at least the exhaust side of the cylinder comprises an upper portion and a lower portion which are in fluid communication with each other via at least one of the first cooling passage and the second cooling passage.

摘要: An HT cooling system cools at least a cylinder block with HT cooling water. An LT cooling system cools an intake port with LT cooling water that is at a lower temperature than the HT cooling water. A controller performs an ignition retard control that involves correcting the ignition timing based on the result of detection of a knock by a knock sensor, and a cooling enhancement control that involves enhancing cooling by the LT cooling system in the case where a knock is detected compared with the case where no knock is detected. The way of cooling by the HT cooling system is unchanged whether a knock is detected.

摘要: A cooling structure of a multi-cylinder engine is provided, which includes a water jacket formed in a cylinder block to surround cylinder bores of cylinders arranged inline, a spacer, and a coolant inlet. The spacer includes openings at positions corresponding to inter-cylinder-bore portions and a rectifying part extending outwardly on a lower side of the openings. The rectifying part inclines continuously upwardly while extending in one of an exhaust- and intake-side section of the jacket from a first end side to a second end side that is the opposite side from the first end side in a cylinder line-up direction, extending on the second end side from the one of the exhaust- and intake-side sections to the other one of the exhaust- and intake-side sections, and then extending from the second end side to the first end side in the other one of the exhaust- and intake-side sections.

摘要: A bridge member is installed in an opening of a water jacket, and a probe of a friction stir welding tool, which rotates about an axis parallel to a cylinder axis, is pressed against a central part of an upper surface of the bridge member. The probe is kept pressed against the central part of the upper surface for a predetermined time to cause side surfaces of the bridge member to expand and come into contact with both a cylinder wall and an outer wall. The probe is moved from the central part of the upper surface to the outer wall, or the cylinder wall, while the probe is kept pressed against the upper surface, thereby friction-stir welding the outer wall, or the cylinder wall, with the bridge member to each other, and after that, the probe is removed off the top deck.

摘要: Disclosed is an efficient thermal energy power apparatus. A nozzle is arranged on a cylinder head of an internal combustion engine. The nozzle is connected to a pressure pump through a pipe. The pressure pump is connected to a liquid storage tank through a pipe. The liquid storage tank is connected to a cooler through a pipe, and the cooler is connected to an exhaust passage through a pipe. The advantages of the present invention are: a working stroke enables the temperature of a cylinder block to be lowered, and the compression ratio is high; due to being filtered by the cooler and the liquid storage tank, discharged exhaust gas is more environmentally friendly than that of existing engines.

摘要: An engine includes a crankshaft, a piston coupled to the crankshaft, and a head positioned over the piston and cylinder. The head includes a first aperture therethrough profiled for a spark plug. The engine also includes at least one camshaft positioned in the head and a cam retainer positioned over the camshaft to retain the camshaft in the head. The cam retainer includes a second aperture profiled to at least partially overlie the first aperture. The cam retainer is in a sealed relation with the head at the interface of the first and second apertures. The engine also includes a valve cover receivable over the head and cam retainer and including a third aperture therethrough, the third aperture being profiled to at least partially overlie the second aperture, and the valve cover being in a sealed relation with the cam retainer at the interface of the second and third apertures.
