The complete plastic covering over the expander cone and the adjoining part of the straight shank portion ensures that the joining composition does not bond the expandable sleeve to the threaded bolt, thus hindering subsequent expansion of the expandable sleeve by the expander cone due to crack formation at the drilled hole.

摘要： An anchor rod has an axially extending anchoring region including an axially extending expansion section widening in the direction the rod is inserted into a borehole in a structural component. The anchor rod is held in the borehole by a hardenable mortar compound. The mortar compound is prevented from adhering to the anchoring region. Since the mortar compound does not bond to the anchor rod, if there is relative movement between the anchor rod and the hardened mortar compound, the expansion section develops compressive force deviating from the rod axis and acting on the mortar compound, while the compound maintains composite action with the structural component, particularly in a fractured tension zone of the structural component.

摘要： A rock anchoring arrangement for use in tunnel and mine constructions comprises an elongated anchoring rod insertable in a bore formed in a rock formation, and a supporting plate arranged in contact with the rock formation at the open end of the bore. The anchoring rod includes a leading end portion fixable at the bottom of the bore, a trailing end portion fixable at the open end of the bore, and a smooth intermediate portion of a cross-sectional area smaller than those of the trailing end portion and the leading end portion. The anchoring rod is fixable by an adhesive within the bore at the leading end portion and at the trailing end portion whereas the intermediate portion is surrounded by an adhesive-repellent material to prevent the sticking thereof to the adhesive.

摘要： A system is disclosed for anchoring a tensioned bolt in a drill hole in the roof of a mine, or other such location. The bolt is threaded from one end and has a head on the other end which carries a standard bearing plate. The bolt passes through a hollow tube having an outer diameter slightly (e.g., 1/8") smaller than the bore hole diameter. The threaded end of the bolt engages a nut affixed to the upper end of the tube and extends through the nut to the end of the threads. A standard, mechanical, expansion anchor is carried on the threaded end of the bolt extending through the tube and is inserted into the drill hole behind a conventional, two-compartment resin package. As the bolt is pushed into the hole, the package is broken and the resin components are forced into the annular space around the hollow tube, as well as around the threaded end of the bolt and expansion shell. Rotation of the bolt to expand the anchor also rotates the hollow tube, mixing the resin components and forcing the mixture into voids in the wall of the drill hole. The hollow tube is tapered inwardly toward its lower end providing a wedge effect resisting downward movement in the drill hole.

摘要： Fastener systems for securing an object to the surface of structure, and methods for forming the same. Shafts of fasteners have threaded ends which are to be embedded in holes formed in the structure and which are filled with a securing agent. For greater pull-out resistance the holes can be enlarged at their internal ends, either by molding or by breaking out the walls of the hole ends with a special tool. A lubricant coating the inserted shaft end permits withdrawal of the fastener shafts. In one embodiment, the external end and the internal end of the shaft are reversely threaded. A cap nut on the external end has a compressible pellet therein. Initial threading downward of the cap nut tightens the nut more securely against the secured object, and further turning unthreads the fastener. A fixed head embodiment carries a cap at its internal end to prevent hardening securing agent from filling in under the shaft so that the shaft can be threaded deeper into the hole when the securing agent hardens.
