Abstract:
A clutch for preventing backdrive includes a housing, a cover portion located at one end portion of the housing, an external shaft, at least a portion of which is located in the housing, and another end portion of which passes through the housing, a plurality of lockers located inside the housing and surrounding the first end portion of the external shaft, an input shaft, a first end portion of which is inserted into openings of the plurality of lockers and a second end portion of which is configured to pass through the cover portion, and a brake unit configured to be selectively engaged to the lockers to restrict rotations of the lockers. The external shaft is restricted by the lockers so that the external shaft and the lockers are rotated in a rotation direction of the input shaft, and movements of the lockers are restricted by the brake unit when the external shaft is rotated.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a brake system, in particular wedge drum brake for utility vehicles, comprising a transmission element and a piston element, wherein the transmission element is guided displaceably along a transmission axis, wherein the piston element is guided displaceably transversely with respect to the transmission axis, wherein the transmission element has a transmission surface which is oriented in an inclined manner with respect to the transmission axis, wherein the piston element is supported with a piston surface on the transmission surface, wherein a displacement of the transmission element along the transmission axis brings about a displacement of the piston element substantially transversely with respect to the transmission axis.
Abstract:
There is a braking assembly for limiting rotation of a drive shaft in a reverse direction. A hub is fixed for rotation with the drive shaft. The hub has an external cylindrical section and at least one hub pocket on the external cylindrical section. An actuatable brake portion is sized and shaped to be mounted for rotation around the hub. The actuatable brake portion has an internal cylindrical section, at least one brake pocket on the internal cylindrical section corresponding with the at least one hub pocket, and at least one brake shoe. The braking assembly also includes at least one ball. During use, the at least one ball cooperates with the at least one hub pocket and the corresponding at least one brake pocket to permit relative rotation of the hub and the actuatable brake portion when the drive shaft is rotating in a forward direction and to limit rotation of the hub and the actuatable brake portion when the drive shaft is rotating in the reverse direction by causing the at least one brake shoe to contact a braking surface.
Abstract:
A drum brake module for motor vehicles operable by electric motor and performs at least one parking brake function, having an electromechanical actuator mounted on one side of the armature plate and a rotational-translational movement converter converting a rotational drive rotational movement into a translational activation movement of brake shoes arranged on a side of the armature plate facing away from the actuator in a brake drum, and including at least one supporting device between the brake shoes such that the latter can carry out an activation movement in the direction of the brake drum. A drive nut is supported by the rotational-translational movement converter in an axially secure and rotatable fashion on the armature plate to assist the braking force. The drive nut drives a spindle arrangement mounted in a rotationally fixed and axially displaceable fashion and engages with an activation cable on at least one brake shoe.
Abstract:
A brake device includes: an outer race having a cylindrical inner peripheral surface; at least two brake cams arranged inside the outer race in a circumferential direction, each brake cam having brake surfaces located at both ends in the circumferential direction of a side of the brake cam facing the outer race, each brake surface being contactable with the inner peripheral surface of the outer race; and an output-side rotary member arranged at radially inner sides of the respective brake cams, the output-side rotary member including contact portions contactable with surfaces of the brake cams facing the radially inner sides. Contact points at which the respective contact portions and the respective brake cams are contactable are on an axis-of-rotation side of a both-end reference plane (plane connecting outer ends of the respective brake surfaces located at the both ends of to corresponding brake cam), or on the both-end reference plane.
Abstract:
A centrifugally triggered brake mechanism is used to halt a rotating assembly. The brake mechanism includes a braking surface, a brake shoe, and a rotating centrifugal trigger. Upon attaining a selected rotational speed the trigger releases the brake pad to engage the drum. The mechanism may be useful for instance in providing backup overspeed protection for wind turbines.
Abstract:
The roller brake mounting adapter is configured to be mounted to a bicycle wheel driving device (e.g., hub) equipped with an internal motor. The roller brake mounting adapter has a flange part and a cylindrical part. The flange part is configured to be mounted to a side end section of a hub shell of the hub. The cylindrical part has a first contact surface and a second contact surface. The first contact surface is provided on an internal circumferential surface of the cylindrical part, and configured to contact a bearing serving to rotatably support the hub shell on a shaft of the hub. The second contact surface is provided on an external circumferential surface of the cylindrical part, and has protrusions that are spaced apart in a circumferential direction. The second contact surface is configured to contact a brake drum of the roller brake device.
Abstract:
A device of compact size for lowering individuals from elevated positions and its weight is such that it may be carried as a part of survival equipment. The device includes a cable wound on a drum and an adjustable brake mechanism for the drum which enables a pilot whose parachute is entangled in a tree to lower himself safely to the ground.
