    摘要: The mechanism consists of a crankshaft and connecting rods driving two rods which extend through the full length of the cylinder of the taper. The rods reciprocate 180.degree. out of phase with each other and pass through a piston assembly. Clutch mechanisms in the piston assembly engage when the rods are moving toward the head assembly and do not engage for the opposite motion. As a result the piston assembly advances toward the head assembly an increment of motion each time one of the rods moves in that direction. A mechanism in the piston assembly engages the head end of the cylinder as the piston assembly approaches the head end and prevents the clutches from engaging so that the piston assembly does not jam against the head end of the cylinder. Also, mechanism is provided to disengage both clutches and keep them disengaged so that the piston assembly is free to move as the cylinder is being filled. This mechanism involves rotating the rods to drive cams which engage the clutches to hold them disengaged. An alternate driving mechanism between the crankshaft and the oscillating rods enables adjustment of the amount of motion of the rods for turn of the crankshaft.

    摘要: A linear motor provides stepwise, incremental advance of a moveable output member. First and second, spaced latches are movably coupled to the output member. A selectively energizable driver engages and moves the first latch into fixed engagement with the output member and continues to move the engaged first latch and output member a predetermined incremental advance distance. The second latch is biased to retain the output member in each successive incremental advance position while the first latch is being reset. In one embodiment, the driver is a motor having a rotatable output shaft with an eccentric cam mounted thereon. The eccentric cam engages the first latch to move the first latch into fixed engagement with the output member and to advance the fixedly engaged first latch and output member an incremental advance distance. A second latch is provided to hold the output member from movement in a direction opposite from the incremental advance direction. A movable, two-position yoke is provided with shift springs acting on the latches to reverse the function of the first and second latches alternatingly between driving and holding functions depending upon the position of the yoke. The yoke is moved in opposite directions by two, oppositely arranged, unidirectional cams which engage drive pins mounted in the yoke upon selected rotation of a drive motor driving the cams.

    摘要: A potato dough extruder incorporating an incremental manually operable pressure apparatus for manually extruding potato dough through an extrusion die which forms the dough into the shape of french fried potatoes, in which the potato dough is contained in a cylindrical container and pressure is applied to a pressure piston in the cylinder through a smooth cylindrical pressure shaft, the incremental pressure apparatus incorporating a ringlike gripping device which is slidable up and down the shaft so long as the ring is located in a plane substantially normal to the shaft, and in which the ring gripping device is tiltable out of such a plane and grasps the shaft at any point along its length thereby doing away with teeth, sprockets, and notched gripping devices and at the same time incorporating the improvement that as soon as the tilting force applied to the ring gripping device is released the pressure on the pressure shaft is also released. This particular improvement eliminates the tendency for the extrusion of the dough to continue after a single serving of french fries has been obtained from the machine.

    摘要: A mechanism for use with a syringe to permit repeated injections of various doses has a body in which is slidably mounted a syringe piston operating rod. A plunger surrounds part of the rod and is slidably mounted in the body, a releasable screw-threaded connection being formed between the plunger and the body. An automatic one-way ball clutch interconnects the plunger and rod, and a further one-way ball clutch interconnects the body and the rod. A dose is dispensed by rotating the plunger to thread that plunger away from the further one-way clutch until a required dose is displayed through a window, the rod being held stationary by the further one-way clutch. Then, on driving the plunger forwardly, the automatic one-way ball clutch connects the plunger to the rod, so that the rod is also driven to project further from the body. Movement is limited by the forward end of the plunger by striking a cup member secured in the body.
