The cog includes an outer circumferential surface that is shaped to drivingly interact with a flexible drive member such as a belt. The cog includes a number of cavities that are each shaped to interact with a tooth of the belt. A vent fluidly connects at least one cavity to atmosphere and is shaped to direct debris that can accumulate in the cavity or the belt in a radially inward and lateral direction so as to maintain a desired driving interaction between the belt and the cog.

    摘要: The present invention relates to a cylindrical poly-V pulley made of metal sheet suitable for forcedly fitting a one-way clutch or a bearing. The present invention can easily provide thick ears for preventing a V-belt from disengaging, and ensure an enough length of an axial straight line of a bore of a peripheral wall. Ears for preventing the V-belt from disengaging, are protrusively shaped in an annular state on axially both ends on an outer surface of a cylindrical peripheral wall. Each ear includes an inner ear portion outwardly protruded from both ends of the peripheral wall and an outer ear portion folded back from the protruded outer end of the inner ear portion to the outer surface of the inner ear portion so as to be closely overlapped with each other, and the inner end surface of the ear is flush with the inner surface of the peripheral wall. Therefore, the ear can be thickened by an overlap structure by the inner and outer ear portions, and the length of the axial straight line of the bore of the peripheral wall can be ensured for the and the length of the axial straight line of the bore of the peripheral wall can be ensured for the thickness of the outer ear portion.

    摘要: A sintered, flanged cam pulley includes a sintered cam pulley body and an annular flange caulked to the sintered cam pulley body. The sintered cam pulley body has at an end portion thereof an axial annular projection and a stepped portion formed on an outer periphery side of the annular projection. An inner peripheral surface of the annular flange is fitted on the stepped portion of the sintered cam pulley body. The tip of the annular projection is deformed plastically from the inner to the outer periphery side of the annular projection by a caulking roller. The caulking roller has a first conical surface of a large angle and a second conical surface of a small angle contiguous to the first conical surface, the first and second conical surfaces being formed on an outer peripheral surface of the caulking roller. The annular flange is thereby caulked to the sintered cam pulley body. It is possible to obtain a high flange pressure output and a high flange loosening torque and further possible to set a wide caulking quantity control range.

    摘要: A method is disclosed of manufacturing a pulley with integral bearing comprising a sheet metal pulley mounted on the outer race of a bearing. The pulley is a close sliding fit on the outer race. The interstice between the pulley and the race is at least partly filled with a low-melting-point filler metal which, when heated, melts and diffuses by capillary action into the interstice between the pulley and the race, at least partly filling the interstice and fastens the pulley to the race when it solidifies. The filler metal is advantageously a brazing alloy having a melting point much lower than that of the parts to be joined together. Applications of the method include the manufacture of belt tensioning pulleys with integral bearings, as used on automobile vehicle engines, for example.

    摘要: An object of the present invention, in an idler pulley having a pulley main body formed of steel sheet, is to prevent the pulley main body and the outer ring of a bearing from creeping and the pulley main body from slipping off. An idler pulley according to the invention comprises a pulley main body adapted to have a belt entrained therearound, a ball bearing fitted in the pulley main body, and a shaft member fitted in the inner ring of the ball bearing, wherein a layer of a soft metal whose Young's modulus is lower than those of the pulley main body and the outer ring of the bearing is interposed between the inner surface of the pulley main body of steel sheet and the outer surface of the outer ring of the bearing. When a belt is entrained, this soft metal layer elastically deforms to thereby function to fill a clearance which develops between the pulley main body and the outer ring of the bearing, thereby minimizing the decrease of the joining force between the pulley main body and the outer ring of the bearing, thus preventing drawbacks, such as creep, from occurring.

    摘要: The invention relates to a method and an apparatus for the manufacture of a poly-V-pulley, particularly with a toothed reference mark sensor. The method uses per se known spin forming and combines in one setting on a spinning machine with tool changers, the method steps of upsetting, profiling and gear cutting. The method according to the invention is preferably based on a tilted circular metal blank, which has a bevelled or angled marginal area with a clearly defined length and wall thickness. From the tilted or upset blank is formed a cup-shaped preform with an asymmetrically reinforced, cylindrical area with the aid of a spinning roll and subsequently in a radial setting is infed a spinning roll with a recess and an axially limited diameter reduction and material accumulation are obtained.
