    摘要: A hydrostatic power transmitting device in combination with a speed reducing apparatus together disposed within a common housing having an interior space divided by partitioning device into a first region in which the hydrostatic unit is disposed and a second region in which said speed reducer is accommodated. First and second regions are segregated from each other by the partitioning device being in the form of a flexible non-porous barrier. The elastically deformable partitioning device can therefore adjust its shape to take up any change in the amount of hydrostatic transmitting fluid in the first region due to temperature changes of the fluid and facilitates the regulation in depth of lubricant held by the second region. Thereby an initially low level of lubricant in the second region lessens the adverse effect of power-retarding drag losses, especially during cold weather winter operation, and a rising level of lubricant ensures good lubrication when temperatures are elevated and viscosity is low. Preferably the second region is sealed from the environment, and the above atmospheric positive pressure in the second chamber aided or induced by the expanding volume of fluid in the first region provides a net increase of pressure experienced by low-pressure side of the closed-loop circuit of the hydrostatic transmission.

    摘要: A method of charging a hydrostatic transmission with deaerated transmission oil wherein a hollow-bodied bellows attached to a housing plate for placement within the hydrostatic transmission housing, and a bleed plug for a bleed hole are removed, and the deaerated oil is caused to fill the transmission housing. Once the transmission has been completely charged such that the oil is at the bleed hole level, the hollow-bodied bellows attached to the housing plate is then secured to the hydrostatic transmission housing causing excess oil and air initially trapped within the hydrostatic transmission housing, to be purged through the bleed hole, while the transmission bleed hole plug is then secured into the transmission bleed hole.

    摘要: The wheel motor of a hydrostatic drive system is coupled to the wheel through a pressure responsive clutch which disconnects the motor from the wheel during periods when fluid under pressure is not supplied to the motor. A flow control dump valve is built into the clutch actuator and regulates a specific rate of flow through the actuator from zero to lock-up pressure. The flow control dump valve blocks all flow through the actuator above lock-up pressure. The flow control dump valve provides a controlled bleed for purging of air and sumping of oil which leaks past the control valve below lock-up pressure. The sumping of oil below lock-up pressure ensures complete release of the clutch when fluid pressure is not supplied to the motor.

    摘要: A hydraulic valve assembly, for use in a hydrostatic transmission, for controlling fluid transfer between a first, a second and a third line, wherein two of the lines define first and second pressure lines, within a closed-loop circuit. The valve assembly comprises: a valve body having ports in communication with the three lines; a spool bore; a valve spool, adapted for sealing reciprocation within the spool bore, having a first and second end portion, a connecting portion, and a first and second bypass orifice within the valve spool; and dampers for centering the valve spool. This spool is movable from a neutral position occurring when the fluid pressure forces in the first and second pressure lines are substantially similar, to a first or a second position occurring when the fluid pressure force in the first pressure line is greater or less than that in the second pressure line, respectively. The bypass orifices are enabled in the neutral position, but are substantially disabled in the first and second positions. A hydraulic system utilizing the valve assembly and a method for increasing the width of the dead band of the hydrostatic transmission in a neutral mode of operation are also set forth.
