Abstract: A continuously variable transmission (CVT) system, which turns the rear wheels of a lawn mower or similar vehicle at different speeds in a coordinated method with the front steering wheels in order to achieve the best turning radius (including a tight or zero turn radius, if desired) under most conditions. The system comprises two stages: the first stage comprising a Fixed Center Distance CVT pulley system, and the second stage comprising dual CVTs (e.g., left and right) that input into dual gear reducers (left and right), which are mechanically connected to the rear wheels. The second stage dual CVTs (left and right) are synchronized with the steering wheel, thus achieving different rear wheel speeds and/or directions based on the steering wheel position.

Abstract: A ball screw nut (3) in which multiple balls (7) are disposed in rolling tracks configured from shaft-side thread grooves (4A) and nut-side thread grooves (6A), and the threaded shaft (4) or the nut (6) is provided with a deflector member (15) in which multiple circulation grooves that make the rolling tracks into circling paths are formed. In the ball screw nut: one circumferential direction end of at least one of the multiple circulation grooves is disposed at a position that is shifted in one circumferential direction or the other with respect to the one circumferential direction ends of the other multiple circulation grooves. The invention addresses the problem of providing a deflector-type ball screw capable of improving durability with respect to radial loads and moment loads without enlarging the overall shape or providing multiple deflector members.

Abstract: A continuously variable transmission includes a first shaft driveably connected to a power-plant and having a first pair of sheave disks, and a second shaft having a second pair of sheave disks. A tension member is connected to the first and second pairs of disks such that power is transmittable between the first and second shafts. A third shaft is selectively driveably connected to the second shaft via a clutch. The clutch includes an inner race fixed to one of the second and third shafts, and an outer race fixed to a gear and having an inner surface circumscribing the inner race. At least one pawl is biased to couple the races in a fixed relationship for common rotation. The clutch further includes an electric coil and an armature configured to engage the pawl to decouple the races in response to current being supplied to the electric coil.

Abstract: A hybrid drive apparatus is provided to allow setting a variety of driving modes while achieving improvement in transmission efficiency. The hybrid drive apparatus includes an engine, first and second motor generators and a planetary gear mechanism. An output shaft of the first motor generator, an output shaft of an engine and an output shaft of the second motor generator, and an input shaft of the continuously variable transmission mechanism are coupled respectively to a sun gear, ring gear and carrier of the planetary gear mechanism. The hybrid drive apparatus includes first, second and third clutches which can switch engagement/disengagement respectively between the output shaft of the engine and the ring gear, between the carrier and the ring gear, and on the input shaft of the continuously variable transmission mechanism.
