A system and method to make stacked connector members for readily joining adjacent ends of sections of insulation tubing. Each of the stacked connector members includes a carrier member having a central opening. A layer of double-sided adhesive material is coated on each side of the carrier member, such that one side of the layer of double-sided adhesive material is able to bond to an end face of one section of insulation tubing, and the other side of the layer of double-sided adhesive material is able to bond to an end face of the second section of insulation tubing. In some embodiments, the layer of double-sided adhesive includes a scrim that acts as a reinforcing structure to keep the layer of double-sided adhesive material intact as a single body during and after application between two adjacent sections of insulation tubing.

In accordance with the present invention, a pipe insulation wrap comprises a flexible planar and generally rectangular sheet having opposite first edge portions and opposite second edge portions. A strip of double faced adhesive with a removable backer thereon is secured along one of the first edge portions for releasable attachment to the other first edge portion when the wrap is assembled around a pipe valve and its associated insulation and the backer is removed. Strips of double faced adhesive along the second edge portions, each with a removable backer thereon are releasably secured at opposite ends of the pipe valve and its associated insulation after removal of the backers on those strips.

A connector for a thermal insulation tube comprises an annular middle portion made from a polymer with thermal insulation properties. The middle portion has two opposite annular surfaces. One of the surfaces is covered with a first adhesive layer while the other annular surface is covered with a second adhesive layer. A first cover sheet is attached to the first adhesive layer. The first adhesive layer used to attach the end surface of the first thermal insulation tube is exposed if the first cover sheet is peeled off. A second cover sheet is attached to the second adhesive layer. The second adhesive layer used to attach the end surface of the second thermal insulation tube is exposed if the second cover sheet is peeled off.

The present invention is generally directed to a method and apparatus for filling pipeline joints. In one illustrative embodiment, a pipeline is provided that is comprised of a layer of mesh material positioned around a gap defined by weight coating material positioned around each of first and second sections of pipe, the layer of mesh material having a plurality of openings formed therein, and a fill material positioned in the gap and extending into the openings in the layer of mesh material. In another illustrative embodiment, a method of filling a joint in a weight coated pipeline is provided. The method comprises positioning a layer of mesh material having a plurality of openings formed therein around the joint, positioning a removable mold around the layer of mesh material, introducing a fill material into the joint through at least one opening in the removable mold, and removing the mold.

The specification discloses a low-cost, simple, and efficient duct system for conveying heated and/or cooled air throughout a building. The system includes duct assemblies and transition components for interconnecting the duct assemblies. Each duct assembly includes an insulated duct having a rigid sleeve within at least one end. Each sleeve includes an abutment ring and orifices in the ring for permitting air to flow into the insulated layer to balloon the layer and improve its insulative effect. Each transition component includes a rigid external skeleton and a plurality of duct board panels fitted therein. After the sleeves are fitted within openings in the duct board panels, the tabs are deformed to retain the abutment rings in engagement with the panels.

A conduit system including conduit units which are interconnected by coupling units during field installation. The conduit units include a pipe, a pipe insulating body, a conduit jacket around the insulating body and conduit sealing members at opposite ends of the conduit unit. The coupling units include a coupling body for telescopically receiving ends of adjacent conduit pipes, an insulating body, a coupling jacket around the insulating body, and coupling sealing members at opposite ends of the coupling unit.When the coupling and conduit units are assembled the sealing member of one unit bridges the juncture of adjacent jacket ends to provide a primary seal against infiltration of moisture. The sealing members of adjacent units sealingly abut each other to provide a secondary seal against moisture infiltration spaced axially from the adjacent ends of the conduit and coupling jackets. The sealing member which forms the primary seal is provided with a fluted outer periphery defining a series of circumferential ribs which are resiliently and sealingly engaged with the associated jackets on opposite sides of the adjacent jacket ends.In one illustrated embodiment the sealing member forming the primary seal is the conduit sealing member while in another illustrated embodiment the coupling sealing member forms the primary seal.
