    摘要: A platform for indexing and clamping metal studs and like building structural members together for manufacturing metal framed walls or trusses of buildings. The platform includes spaced members for supporting studs, plates and the like placed there upon, and is sufficiently open between the spaced and properly placed members to allow applying screws to both sides of the structural members for connection of joints. The platform may be manually loaded with the appropriate framing structural members with the platform in a horizontal position with the indexing stops upward. The indexing stops are used to position studs, and powered clamps are provided to secure the studs in place against the stops. Screws may be applied to a first side of the framing, followed by the platform being rotated 180 degrees under motor or like power to expose the second side of the framing to allow the application of holding screws thereto. The indexing clamps and the movable raised plate hold the framing in place while the platform is rotated or inverted.

At least two braces in the continuous lacing are perpendicular to the chord and follow each other consecutively. The girder has a triangular cross section. Where the two panel planes meet, the lacing forms a radius which is at least 0.4 times the diameter of the top chord. A method and apparatus for preparing such a girder are also disclosed.

A transverse filament is wound in the form of coils round a group of longitudinally extending filaments which are parallel to an axis. The winding of the transverse filament is accompanied, toward the end of the winding, by a corrugation of the transverse filament so as to produce at the end of the lattice structure an end portion which can be expanded radially of the axis. The lattice structure is of particular utility as a reinforcement for a concrete pipe having a socket at one end.

    摘要: A succession of concrete-reinforcing rods are fed one by one into an attaching station to which are fed several base strips. The rods are positioned across the base strips and a holding strip is laid over the rod opposite each base strip, and this holding strip is welded in a loop to the base strip. Thence the strips, with the rod attached, are rolled up, and another rod is connected between them as above. The mat thus formed has a changeable shape since the rods remain slidable between the strips so that they can be longitudinally displaced or wholly removed to fit the mat to virtually any configuration. The strips can be made of metal, synthetic resin, textile, rubber, or the like and the holding strips can be applied as a plurality of separate ties, clips or straps to the base strips over the rods.

    摘要: A lattice girder comprising an upper boom, a lower boom and a plurality of braces interconnecting the booms, is produced from a grid of structural steel rods so that the braces extend in parallel planes oblique to perpendicular planes passing through the booms, the rods being spot welded at their points of intersection. The longitudinally and transversely extending rods of the grid are fed to a spot welding station in adjacent parallel planes so that the transversely extending rods extend obliquely to the longitudinally extending rods. The grid is then cut into longitudinally extending sections each forming a girder blank, and each section is bent about a longitudinally extending axis to produce the lattice girder, one of the longitudinally extending girders forming the upper boom and the transversely extending rods forming the braces.
