    Abstract: The present invention provides a carbon dioxide supplier capable of forming a swirl flow of a mixture gas and evenly distributing the mixture gas through porous grating hole of a catalyst for catalyst combustion to maintain uniform temperature throughout the entire volume of the catalyst to maintain stable combustion of carbon. The carbon dioxide supplier comprises: a mixture gas supply unit supplying a mixture gas of air and fuel; a combustion unit combusting the mixture gas supplied from the mixture gas supply unit; and a swirl forming unit 40 extending between the mixture gas supply unit 30 and the combustion unit 50 in anteroposterior direction, the swirl forming unit 40 swirl-flowing the mixture gas introduced into a rear portion thereof from the mixture gas supply unit 30 to the combustion unit 50 provided at a front portion thereof.

    Abstract: A method and fuel composition for pre-heating and/or operating a catalytic heater is described herein. In one aspect, there is provided a method of preheating a catalyst in a catalytic heater comprising the steps of: providing a preheat composition comprising greater than 60% by volume hydrogen and at least one fluid component selected from natural gas, propane, butane, refinery off gas, ethylene off gas, methanol, ethanol, butanol, liquefied biogas and mixtures thereof; and contacting the catalyst with the preheat composition for a period of time sufficient to raise the temperature of the catalyst to a one or more temperatures. In this or other embodiments, there is a fuel composition that comprises at least one component selected from natural gas, propane, butane and mixtures thereof and optionally hydrogen.

    Abstract: Provided is a portable heating device comprising a combustion-powered heater, a regulator, and an oxygen depletion sensor. The combustion-powered heater may be supplied by an associated fuel source and may comprise a combustion region comprising a catalytic surface. The regulator may be adapted for fluid communication with the associated fuel source. The oxygen depletion sensor may comprise a burner and a temperature detector. The burner may be in fluid communication with the regulator and may be adapted to combust fuel form the regulator with air to produce a flame. The temperature detector may be adapted to detect the temperature of the flame and may be adapted to selectively render the combustion-powered heater non-functional.

    Abstract: A patio heater is disclosed comprising a cylindrical catalytic heating chamber mounted on a base. The patio heater of the present invention comprises a base to physically support a cylindrical catalytic heater chamber which is mounted inside a fuel vapor cavity. The catalytic heater chamber provides a cylindrical heating zone capable of heating a nearby human form the knee to the face. The fuel vapor chamber surrounds the catalytic heating chamber and acts to accumulate sufficient fuel and air mixture to ignite to provide uniform and sufficient heat to the catalyst surface to attain catalytic ignition on start up. The base offers physical stability for the assembly and storage space for a fuel tank and houses the fuel deliver system and ignitor controls.
