In one embodiment, a method for intelligently controlling an ambient room temperature in a structure is described, comprising receiving a future outdoor temperature forecast related to a geographic area where the structure is located, and altering a temperature profile for controlling the ambient room temperature based on the future outdoor temperature forecast.

摘要: A furnace including a housing and a firebox in the housing having a combustion chamber. The furnace includes a combustion air delivery system for delivering combustion air to the combustion chamber. The combustion air delivery system includes a manifold mounted outside the combustion chamber and extending vertically along the front face of the combustion chamber from a lower end to an upper end. An air blower is mounted on the manifold. The combustion air delivery system includes a primary combustion air passage for delivering air from the air blower to a primary combustion air outlet at the front face of the combustion chamber. The combustion air delivery system includes a secondary combustion air passage for delivering air to a secondary combustion air outlet positioned inside the combustion chamber adjacent the top face of the combustion chamber.

摘要: An HVAC controller may be controlled in response to a natural language audio message that is not recognizable by the HVAC controller as a command, where the natural language audio message is translated into a command recognizable by the HVAC controller. The HVAC controller may be a thermostat including a housing that houses a temperature sensor, a microphone, and a controller. The controller may identify a trigger phrase in an audio stream provided by the microphone. In response to identifying the trigger phrase, the controller initiates processing of the audio stream to identify a command following the trigger phrase and to generate a command understandable by the thermostat that instructs the controller to perform the identified command. The controller then executes the generated command understandable by the thermostat. A user may communicate with the thermostat via the microphone of the thermostat and/or a remote device having a microphone.

摘要: An HVAC controller may be controlled in response to a natural language audio message that is not recognizable by the HVAC controller as a command, where the natural language audio message is translated into a command recognizable by the HVAC controller. Voice recognition software identifies a trigger phrase included in the natural language audio message and in response the HVAC controller performs an action. In response to identifying a trigger phrase at the HVAC controller, the HVAC controller may establish a single duplex connection with a remote server having a voice interaction module. An end user may then have a continuous dialog with the voice interaction module via the HVAC controller over the established single duplex connection. The voice interaction module may allow for an end user to interrupt the dialog at any time, as desired.

摘要: The efficient fan controller includes a microprocessor receiving at least one signal input from thermostat/equipment control terminals to control a fan relay to operate a system fan. The microprocessor monitors a thermostat call for cooling/heating duration and determines a variable fan-off delay based on the cooling/heating cycle duration, and at an end of a cooling/heating cycle energize the fan relay to operate the system fan for the variable fan-off delay. The fan controller avoids false thermostat activation signals and includes a common wire adapter to provide continuous power to a smart communicating thermostat and is configured to evaluate floating, zero, rectified, false positive and active input signals. The fan controller can be embodied on a forced-air-unit control board or thermostat. The fan controller installation methods ensure the system fan/blower operates at high speed for heating and cooling to improve thermal comfort, efficiency and satisfy the thermostat sooner to save energy.

Such a heater can be portable, and comprise an environmental detector that senses ambient air conditions, and may provide data used to shut down the heater in threshold conditions. In one implementation, a portable heater for use in high altitudes can comprise a housing configured for portability, in which a combustion region and a fuel supply component are disposed. The heater can comprise an environmental detector with a flameless sensor configured to detect an ambient level of a constituent of the atmosphere, and generate a signal indicative of the constituent level; and a sensor interface that can control flow of fuel from the fuel supply, based at least upon a signal received from the sensor.

摘要: An HVAC controller may wirelessly communicate with a mobile wireless device that provides a user interface for interacting with the HVAC controller. In some cases, the communication module wirelessly receives a sensed parameter from a remote wireless sensor in a living space of the building and receives a wired input from a return air sensor. A controller may be operatively coupled to the communication module and may control the HVAC system based at least in part on the sensed parameter from the remote wireless sensor when the sensed parameter from the remote wireless sensor is available and, in some cases, control the HVAC system based at least in part on the return air parameter when the sensed parameter from the remote wireless sensor is not available.

摘要: A system and method that optimizes energy consumption in an HVAC unit by minimizing chiller activity. The system uses a control unit that overrides a thermostat in at least one room to close a cooling valve that leads a fluid input to the room. When multiple cooling valves are closed through the rooms, the consequential return fluid maintains greater cooling capacity and thus, the chiller does not have to operate at full capacity. The control unit individually controls components in the HVAC unit, which were previously controlled by switches on the thermostat. The control unit includes a temperature sensor that monitors an environment, such as the room and a plenum. The control unit also includes a control relay that closes the cooling valve on the HVAC unit when the predetermined temperature of the control unit is above the thermostat temperature set by a room occupant.
