    摘要: An efficient heat pump ejector vacuum dryer system and associated method of use for drying items that includes a drying vessel having a condenser and having a first evaporator where the first evaporator has an input that is connected to an output of the first expansion valve, a first expansion valve connected in fluid communication between the condenser and the first evaporator, a second expansion valve connected between the condenser and the second evaporator, a compressor having an input connected to an output of the first evaporator, an ejector that receives a vapor stream from an output of the compressor and receives a vapor stream from the output of the second evaporator generates as an output a high-temperature vapor provided to a condenser of the drying vessel to dry the items and generate an output of moisture, and a water reservoir that accumulates water from the drying vessel.

    摘要: This invention relates to a method and apparatus for drying organic material using the energy contained in the organic material to be dried to drive the drying process. The organic material could be sewage sludge, food scraps, manure, wood, bagasse etc. The latent heat of evaporation is recovered through the use of a heat pump mechanism. This allows for the retention of a majority of the heat within the system, allowing optimal drying conditions to be maintained throughout the drying process.

    摘要: Method and apparatus for drying paper webs continuously manufactured in paper machines, by the use of process steam produced by a two-substance compression heat pump with a solution-circuit.A portion of the thermal energy needed for the drying process is obtained from process steam produced by the heat pump from the waste heat contained in the moist exhaust air of the paper machine, and another portion from preheated ambient air, which is then used for drying the paper web. The ambient air is preheated by using it to cool the rich solution of the heat pump.

    摘要: A closed intermittent process for drying a moist material, in which process gas is circulated internally for transporting vapour formation heat and water vapour out of the material, the water vapour being condensed from a cooled mixture of gas and water vapour, and for heating the material to be dried. The material is preferably stored in at least two essentially equally large lots (31, 32), each in one essentially gastight chamber (1, 2). Through one lot (31) there is conducted alternately a cooling/drying cycle and a heating cycle of equal duration, the former utilizing a first circulating gas flow (11) cooled by a cooling medium and the latter utilizing a second circulating gas flow (12) heated by a heating medium. Through the other lot (32), a third circulating gas flow (22) heated against a heating medium conducts a heating cycle concurrently with cooling/drying in the first lot (31), and a fourth circulating gas flow (21) cooled against a cooling medium conducts a cooling/drying cycle concurrently with the heating cycle in the first lot (31).

    摘要: Structure is provided defining a flow path for granular materials to be dried and laterally through which drying air may be passed. The flow path includes inlet and outlet end portions and supply means is provided for supplying granular material to the inlet end portion and discharge means is provided for discharging granular material from the outlet end portion. Air passage structure is provided including means for passing heated drying air laterally through the inlet end portion of the flow path and cooled drying air laterally through the outlet end portion of the flow path. The air passage structure includes a substantially closed loop circuit and pump structure for pumping air through the circuit. Also, the air passage structure includes heating structure for heating the drying air immediately prior to its passage laterally through the inlet end portion of the flow path and cooling structure for cooling and dehumidifying the drying air after its passage laterally through the inlet end portion of the flow path and prior to its passage laterally through the outlet end portion of the flow path. Still further, the air passage structure includes bypass structure operative to cause variable amounts of the drying air within the circuit to bypass the outlet end portion of the material flow path. Further, structure is provided to obtain and maintain sub-atmospheric pressure in the drying chamber.

    摘要: The hot, saturated air is moved from a drying oven chamber through a substantially closed circuit first in a heat extraction path through a series of cooling stages to condense the solvent from the air, and then in a heat collection path in a cross-flow heat exchange relationship through some of the cooling stages to recover some of the heat, and the dried air is moved back into the drying oven. The heat extraction path extends generally in a downward sloped direction toward a solvent storage tank, and the solvent is condensed as it reaches the lower end of the path. A compound, multiple stage refrigeration system moves a first refrigerant fluid through a condenser coil in the heat collection path to impart heat to the air and then through an expansion valve and through a refrigerant-to-refrigerant heat exchanger to absorb heat, and moves a second refrigerant fluid through the refrigerant-to-refrigerant heat exchanger to give up its heat and then through an expansion valve and through an evaporator in the heat extraction path to absorb heat from the air. Makeup air to the substantially closed system can be provided and moves through a cooling coil and a desiccant dehumidifier in the heat collection path.

    摘要: The embodiment of the invention disclosed herein is directed to a method and apparatus for drying grain. A refrigerating system is mounted within the closed-loop air duct structure which extends from an outlet to an inlet of a grain storage bin. The evaporator of the refrigerating system dries warm moisture-laden air as it passes through the closed-loop air duct. The air is then preheated by the compressor of the refrigeration system and finally heated by the condensor thereof. This heated air is then returned to the grain storage bin where it flows through a distributor for uniformly drying grain. An air flow bypass is provided at the inlet of the evaporator to take in outside air and vent off the warm moisture-laden air to atmosphere should the evaporator temperature increase beyond a predetermined point.
