Abstract:
An aircraft seat includes a seat bucket that is integral by its seatback with a single beam oriented along an axis that is approximately perpendicular to the aircraft floor, which beam is integral with fastening points located on at least two separate lines on the aircraft floor.
Abstract:
A seat having a bucket and a supporting structure on which the bucket is fixed. The height of the bucket on the supporting structure is adjustable. A lower sub-assembly of the supporting structure forms a seat subframe and of which at least one bucket support is mounted movable in height following at least one lower guide rail. An upper sub-assembly of the supporting structure is assembled movable in rotation relative to the lower sub-assembly around a pivot axis which is situated close to a lower end of the lower guide rails and situated close to a lower end of the upper sub-assembly. The bucket is fixed to the bucket support in an articulated manner at the seat base and has at least one guide element fixed to the backrest and sliding in an upper guide rail of the upper sub-assembly situated above the lower guide rails.
Abstract:
A seat base for use in aircraft has a first cross member, a second cross member, a first leg, a second leg, and a base plate having a first bendable tab and a second bendable tab facing away from the first tab. The first cross member, the second cross member, and the base plate are each configured to be secured to the first and second legs in an extended position and a retracted position. The first and second legs are configured to be secured to seat feet and floor tracking rails. The first and second cross members are secured to the base plate so as to allow for selective rotation of the first and second cross members in response to relative vertical movement of the first leg with respect to the second leg.
Abstract:
In a method for reducing the impact of a force upon a person seated in a safety seat of a motor vehicle at least a seat unit of the safety seat is restrained at least in part by at least one support strap. The support strap is formed with an extension piece configured to lengthen when exposed to a load as a result of an accident or explosion. A winding unit holds the support strap to shorten an effective length of the support strap and to build up a force to maintain the support strap under tension after the support strap underwent a lengthening in an area of the extension piece as a result of a load caused by a force resulting from an accident or explosion so as to reestablish an effective length of the support strap for lengthening during a subsequent force impact.
Abstract:
A crashworthy bench (1) for an aircraft having a cabin that includes a floor (51), a ceiling (52), and substantially vertical partitions. Said bench (1) comprises a frame (2), at least one seat for a passenger, with each seat comprising a seat, a back, a retaining system (7) for retaining said passenger, and at least one energy absorber device (20). Said frame (2) is fastened to the inside of said cabin via one low connection point (8) for each seat and via at least one high connection point (9) for said bench (1). Two low connecting rods (11) and one leg (12) connect the frame (2) to each low connection point (8) on said floor (51). Two high connecting rods (15) connect the frame (2) to the high connection points (9) on said ceiling (52) or on a vertical partition of the cabin of the aircraft.
Abstract:
An aircraft having a seating arrangement comprising with a plurality of seats arranged in-line in the fore and aft direction of the aircraft. In a first configuration, the seats are arranged so that the in-line spacing between seats is smaller than the height of a backrest of a seat. At least one of the seats can be reconfigured into a second configuration in which with the aid of the seat a bedded patient care area is made available. The bedded patient care area can be made use of, for example, to bed a person flat having suddenly become ill during the flight. The cabin seating can be configured in making optimum use of available space, requiring just one or two seats to be reconfigured when needed to create a bedded patient care area.
Abstract:
A safety seat for a motor vehicle includes a seat unit and a back unit having an upper part and a lower part. The safety seat can be connected by way of the upper part to the structure of a motor vehicle, and the lower part can be dropped with respect to the upper part. The lower part is guided on the upper part and is connected to the upper part by at least one energy-absorbing support strap. The seat unit has a forward part connected in articulated fashion to the upper part of the back unit, and a rear part which is connected in articulated fashion to the lower part of the back unit. The rear part of the seat unit drops farther than the forward part of the seat unit when a force resulting from an accident or an explosion acts on the vehicle.
Abstract:
A framework fixed to the structure of a vehicle, which framework carries a generally planar seat proper via mobility structure for providing the seat proper with mobility relative to the framework. The seat proper is rigid and is suspended from the framework via a deformable structure which is deformable in at least one of the dimensions of the plane of the seat proper. The plane of the framework for supporting the seat proper is disposed above the plane of the seat proper that is supported by the framework, so as to impart a pendular type structure to the structure providing mobility to the seat proper relative to the framework.
Abstract:
A vehicle seat including an arrangement for resisting loads applied to the vehicle seat which comprises a seat base and a seat back; said arrangement including a link mechanism connected between the seat back and a support member connected to the vehicle. The link mechanism is arranged to prevent motion of the seat back beyond a predetermined position. There is also provided an adjustable tether arrangement including a tether means, the tether means being arranged to be mounted between the seat back and a vehicle body and the tether means including a tether strap and a retractor mechanism enabling the tether strap to extend or retract in accordance with allowed motion of the vehicle seat.
