    摘要: A flowmeter comprising a four-way valve which directs fluid against one side or the other of a piston, while the other side of the piston is connected to an outlet line. The piston is connected to a permanent magnet which moves through an elongated winding to generate an output voltage related to the piston velocity which, in turn, is related to volumetric flow rate. The four-way valve is cycled to automatically reverse piston movement before the piston reaches one end of its full motion by an auxiliary valve which is operated from magnetic reed switches disposed along the path of movement of the permanent magnet. A readout and control circuit is provided which can present the velocity measurement on a digital display, with the circuit also providing calibration capability.

    摘要: A delivery system for controlling the flow of fluid is disclosed. The comprises a control valve comprising an electric control motor and a valve, and a hydraulic piston type motor including a shaft which is rotated when fluid flows through the system. The rate at which fluid flows into the system is measured by the hydraulic motor and is reflected by the rate at which the hydraulic motor shaft rotates. The rate at which fluid flows through the system is controlled by the control valve. The control valve is movable between a first position in which a first fluid flow rate through the system is achieved and a second position is which a second flow rate higher than the first rate is achieved. The control motor is responsive to an external signal which indicates a rate rotation for the control motor corresponding with a rate of fluid flow. The control motor shaft, the hydraulic motor shaft and the control valve are dynamically connected so that, when the rate at which fluid id flowing through the system is less than the given rate, the control valve is moved towards the second position and, when the rate at which fluid is flowing through the system is greater than the given rate, the control valve is moved towards the first position. A fluid component dosing apparatus including at least one hydraulically actuated dosing pump driven by a delivery system according to the invention is also disclosed.

    摘要: A positive displacement radial piston flowmeter includes pistons coupled to one another by connecting rods. Fluid passageways interconnect the cylinders and inlet and outlet ports formed in the housing. Piston movement is sensed by a pair of linear differential transducers, including exciter and sensing windings, mounted over the outer end of two adjacent cylinders. An elongate piston extension carrying a magnetic material reciprocates within the coils. Each sensing coil produces a voltage difference having a sinusoidal wave form so the two transducers produce a two phase sinusoidal signal (when demodulated) which allows sensing and control circuitry to make very accurate flow measurements. The coil housing is constructed so the electromagnetic properties at both sensing coils are equal to eliminate the need to compensate for initial signal bias or signal drift. The pistons are attached to the outer ends of the connecting rods through a universal joint to compensate for manufacturing tolerances. The passageways fluidly connected to the cylinders are positioned so that the top of the passageways are about even with the highest point of the cylinder. This allows the meter to be self-purging as to air and vapor which may become trapped within the meter.

    摘要: A device for metering fluid flow which comprises a fluid flow chamber, fluid inlet and outlet connected thereto, and a moving member cyclically movable with an operative clearance therein and through momentum exchange mechanically interacting with the fluid flow therethrough. The entire circumferential region of the moving member is relatively and automatically recedable from, and advanceable toward, the nearby inside wall of the flow chamber in accordance with, respectively, increasing and decreasing rates of the fluid flow. This feature controllably changes the circumferential clearance therebetween and insures that the cyclic speed of the member is proportional to the fluid flow rate, even at very low flow rates. The member may be provided with frictionless gas or liquid bearings for improved measuring accuracy and reliability. The device may also be mechanically temperature-compensated for measuring fluid mass flow, rather than fluid volumetric flow.
