Abstract: A weighing system includes a support, a load cell mounted to the support, and a part platform suspended from the load cell to receive a part to be weighed. The load cell is operable to generate thousands of weight values for the part per second over a period of less than twenty seconds. The load cell is operable to output a weight of the part by averaging the weight values over the period of less than twenty seconds. A method of weighing the part suspended from the load cell is also disclosed.

Abstract: A method and apparatus to monitor the weight of a silo or tank is disclosed. The system is adapted to be attached to a leg of the silo and comprises a load cell, a support member anchored to the ground and a lifting device attached to the load cell and to the support member. The load cell comprises two extremities that are attached to the silo leg and comprises an aperture there between. The aperture is preferably threaded to receive the lifting device, such as a bolt. The bolt is rotated using a tool as to induce a movement of the load cell along the axis of the bolt thereby lifting the load cell and the attached silo leg. Strain gauges are attached to the load cell to measure the variation in an electric or optical signal that is translated in human readable data using a monitoring device.

Abstract: A tamper-resistant adherable weight scale is described herein. The adherable weight scale generally includes one or more load sensors, a microcontroller, a display panel, and an adhesive material to adhere a sensing surface of the load sensor, either directly or indirectly, to a bottom surface of an object such that the load sensor can continuously monitor a sensed load of the object when adhered thereto. The microcontroller may further include a processor and memory to log and store the sensed loads or weight measurements in the memory. The adherable weight scale is io particularly advantageous for the continuous monitoring and/or logging the weight of a regulated substance that is added or removed from a container adhered to the adherable weight scale.

Abstract: The food portion scale is a device that allows for the measurement of individual portions of foodstuffs before a foodstuff is physically portioned. The foodstuff is a scale wherein the platter of the scale is mounted on a fulcrum. The foodstuff is then placed on the food portion scale such that the fulcrum passes underneath the foodstuff dividing the foodstuff into two portions. The food portion scale independently measures the weight of each portion of the food stuff as it is divided by the line of the fulcrum. The foodstuff is then scored along the line of the fulcrum. When the foodstuff is later cut into portions along the score line, the foodstuff will be portioned into portions that match the previously measured weights. The food portion scale comprises a platter, a fulcrum, a plurality of load cells, a plurality of displays, a housing, and a control system.

Abstract: A fluid container measurement system employing a load cell linkage member is disclosed. The fluid container measurement system is configured to suspend a load measurement assembly a distance above a support surface. The load measurement assembly houses a load cell and a measurement control circuit. The measurement control circuit is coupled to the load cell and configured to receive electrical signals indicative of a force imposed on the load cell. The load measurement assembly also includes or is configured to receive a load cell linkage member mechanically linked to the load cell. In this manner, a load placed on the load cell linkage member will be exerted on the load cell. Electrical signals generated by the load cell indicative of the force exerted on the load cell can be used to measure the fluid container attached to the load cell linkage member.

The chuck is vertically movable relative to the weighing scale from a first position in which the wafer is supported by the chuck to a second position in which the wafer is supported by the cantilevered arm of the weighing scale. A method for characterizing a wafer using the instant apparatus is also disclosed.

Abstract: A weighing scale (30a, 30b, 40, 50) is designed for use in a first and a second configuration. In the first configuration, a base unit (1) has a main plane disposed horizontally with a load receiver (32, 42, 52) extending parallel thereto. A weighing cell (2) is mounted under the load receiver in the base unit and measures a weighing force acting perpendicular to the main plane. In the second configuration, the main plane is disposed vertically, with the load receiver hanging below the base unit as a suspended weighing pan, with the weighing cell mounted in the base unit to measure a vertical weighting force that is parallel to the main plane of the base unit.
